Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
I left at the full time whistle, just could not stand another half hour of watching dross. Two very poor teams and Barrow with no direction or aims. It was witnessing the death of football at Holker St. I think back to the Kenny Lowe days when we had footballers in the team. Only Edwards and Walker stood out last night. Too much giving the ball away by both teams and a manager on the touchline who does not have a clue how to win or change a game. I doubt I'll be back, and that's after a good 15 years support. The minutes silence produced more emotion than the game

Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
An intense night on many many levels. At the end of the day the better team won, although if Bayliss hadn't of took Arnison I reckon we could of scored that penalty and brought it to penalties.
Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
Absolutely dire. No threat going forward, Williams just hoofs the ball to anywhere and it comes straight back to him to do it again, and again. Midfield was lacking, crap all over the pitch.
Agree about atmosphere, dreadful.
If we last the season I will be amazed.

everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it
Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
Okay, I know we hit the bar and had one low shot pawed away by their keeper but why is it I had the gut feeling we wouldn't score if we carried on playing for a million years? You could wager your house on us not scoring. In that respect it was a carbon copy of the first match of the season when the same applied. This really is a poor standard league because Brackley are supposedly one of the "quality" teams in it (if their league position and just one defeat all season is a measure) and yet they were even worse than us for most of the match. I'm struggling to remember a time when we were so utterly uncreative and unlikely to do anything to get pulses racing. I'll carry on going because I'm a mug but if I'm brutally honest there was zero entertainment value last night.

All game long you see Bayliss screaming at the defence and throwing his arm in a long sweeping motion meaning lump it over into the corners to chase.tictactoe wrote:Absolutely dire. Over 5 hours of football against Brackley this season, and we've not scored a single goal.
What a load of rubbish. Bayliss out!

Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
We dominated territory early on in the second half and seemed the more likely winners. However, it was obvious from about 70 minutes in that Brackley were beginning to play through midfield more easily with Sheridan (in particular), Davies and Lacey beginning to tire. In combination, the unit was failing. It was crying out for a substitution to bolster and refresh midfield (the earlier introduction of Alex Ray Harvey. If not fit enough, why even on the bench? What does that say about our squad depth?).
It was amazingly poor that the manager didn't recognise and attempt to correct this. We were clinging on by full time. The fresh-legged Brackley substitute, number 12, was becoming more of an influence, and hit the bar with a mis-hit cross, moments after another woodwork whack. A proactive manager would've detected the evidence of fatigue and changed midfield in normal time. Bayliss didn't. Patently we needed to freshen up ahead of the first period of extra-time (against the wind) - and yet still no change. We sat deeper, invited pressure, and deserved to lose.

Bayliss talks as much shite as edmo does as the reds.put these two teams togeather there still be crap
Re: Barrow v Brackley FA Cup Replay
Onered- rivalries aside, I am saddened at where we find our clubs at the moment. The banter would be so much better if we were both doing well and playing good stuff.

Just listened to that for the first time, very worrying. If he really thinks we were fantastic for 80 minutes then I'm lost for words.boyliegladbach wrote:Bayliss says we didn't lose.
