Having seen Stockport a few times this season and not just against Barrow, it is obvious that Stockport's defence is terrible. Under pressure they panic and make silly decisions that put themselves in trouble. Against such a defence you simply need to be able to finish in front of goal, something that has eluded Barrow most of the season so far. As part of their defence, their keeper on Saturday was shocking and almost gave the first game away a few times, was he any good tonight?andyg wrote:O'Donnell's near post flick showed County's defence was as bad as ours
Sounds like they played much better tonight and created some very good chances and finished a few of them as well. Still leaked goals but scored more than the opposition, which is what counts in the end. Well done lads.
Amazing result last night, after that shaky opening, I think most feared that this was going to be one of those all too familiar nights. Our opening goal was to be honest against the run of play, but we grew as a team from then on and were unlucky not to have gone in three up at halftime. Passing the ball about with our renewed confidence for most it, and our pacier forwards causing them a real headache defensively. We did sit a bit too deep for large periods of the second half on a pitch that skating on ice would have been at home on, with players loosing their footing on numerous occasions. We also couldn't get the ball with Stockport giving us an aerial bombardment at times, we rode our luck and a great counter attack brought our third sending around Sixty of us Barrow followers into raptures!!! A Nice Traditional football ground, stewarding was fine, a sparse crowd in a ground that more than likely holds over 15,000, and we loved every minute!!!
