You can get into a league one game for £16 and a league two game for £14.

Some clubs may be cheaper, I only looked at one in each league.

The football on display at Holker Street isn't offering value for money, which is why we're only getting crowds of 600.

Does it ever offer value? Even when we're playing good football and are near the top of the league? No.

It's always nice to see us winning consistently, that will bring back more fans, but the football still is at a poor level, and if anyone comes to Holker Street expecting to see a flowing, end-to-end game, they'll be disappointed.

As Cokey said, you can get into some League 1 & League 2 games for less than Barrow. I went to watch Manchester United in the Capital One Cup for less than the entry price at Barrow. Times are hard at this time of year financially, too.

the board have to charge the present prices because(as steve leonard)said they have to budget for an aversge attendance,this is to pay for everything!

if they charged less we would be in a far worse place than now,do you realise how much it costs to run the club ?if you attend the agm or borrowed some of the figures off a member you would be surprised!

The football league get an enormous amount more funding allowing them to charge less, I believe it is around £1 million a year for league 2 clubs.

It may not cost much more at some league grounds but you need to take into account the cost of transport to and from the ground and car parking costs. Another thing those teams aren't your home town team so there's nothing to get too excited about. Before anyone says there's not much excitement at HS lately, we have had our moments over the years.

Absolutely. Said it for years. My premier league friends laugh at the expense of 'crap' one man and his dog standard football.

However, it's my hometown team and I want to support them.

When we are playing dreadful football, no manager, no vision, loan players, debt etc it makes it easier to say no thanks, I'll keep my money in my pocket.

Radio Cumbria were trailing that they were speaking to 'a Director' tonight between 6 and 7 pm to get the latest news.

Did anyone hear what was said and by whom?

League 1 clubs go upward from £16 (most expensive adult), a lot of clubs also vary ticket prices charging about £20 for the top games down to about £16 for less glamorous ties. I recall Kettering tried that system around the time they were promoted to the conference premier. Led to a lot of uncertainty of what they were going to get charged and accusations of profiteering at the expense of the fans for some of the seasons biggest games. They heavily over charged for an FA Cup tie against a top side one season, a lot of regulars threatening not to attend because of the rip off price.

As for our league... I understand that there are a number of teams charging £13 similar to our ground price. Alty charge £15 to sit in the stand, that is the highest I think. The lowest I've seen is Solihul at £9. We are in the right price bracket but I lacks appeal at the moment.

i hope wnen,if,definately maybe! the new manager is announced that the club do it right and after this let the fans meet the new guy/guy`s and hear his plans for now/future,we used to have meet the manager night`s and like everything else this was slowly eroded away which is a shame because they were usually quite informative and interesting!
uncle peter is there any chance of a statement of where we are i.e. interviewing 5 candidates etc?

Thanks for that but it shouldn`t be down to ordinary fans to inform the supporters!,we keep getting told it`s a members club blah blah but our "leaders seem more happy to talk to the media than the fans no wonder there`s so much apathy!
