Re: Ground Maintenance Area
We'll be there on Friday afternoon (I know you can't make that bigcod) but hopefully there'll be a good squad there on Sunday morning for the garage shift. Is Sunday ok for you?bigcod123 wrote:I will be at the ground when required which is?
It sounds like Whitty 69 will be there to give advice on certain areas as well (GMA lights, new club shop) but he's unable to do any work at the moment.
Anymore for Sunday morning?
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

9:00 am at the ground, is that ok for you?bigcod123 wrote:What time is everyone meeting sunday?
I'll see if Whitty 69 will come down to have a talk with you then while any other volunteers are on garage shifting duty.
We're still after another couple of lads to make this as easy as possible.

The gainsborough game now being advertised thanks to Wintergreen and Stevie A for putting board back up, if anyone notices anything missing please give me a shout.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Quite a lot on, on Sunday morning. So much so we're looking at splitting the volunteers into two possibly three groups depending on numbers, we have a decent amount so far but still need a few more.
We need about six-eight on the garage shift.
Two or three moving some desks & work tops from an office & back to the ground.
And a couple that can carry on with the every day stuff in the ground.
We have two vans & two trailers tied up moving the garage but despertely need another small to medium van or car & trailer for the desk stuff. It'd be greatly appreciated if anyone can spare a few hours on Sunday morning to help us out with all that'll be going on.
If you can help, can you please let me know so we can plan as best we can where everyone will be going. PM's, posts, text's, carrier pigeon or e-mails should just about cover all contact avenues.

I'm going to have a look at the garage tomorrow afternoon Ian, too bloody wild today. I was planning to go straight to Ulverston on Sunday.spirit of 1990 wrote:Quite a lot on, on Sunday morning. Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Let me know how you got on later John. Just check & make sure we wont need anything other than spanners, shifters, saw's, pinch bars or a hammer for abc!
Ian (WVJ) has offered to do the office equipment stuff so transport for everything is covered. Plenty ready to make the 9:00am start but still room for a few others on all sorts of jobs. One job that has been lying there looking at us for months are all them empty paint tins that need to go to the tip, simple little job but there always seems to be something more important to do, nice little job for someone with a car or even better a small van.
Another job for someone in the warmth & cosy surroundings of the GMA would be constructing a rack for all the advertising signs that are lying on the floor. Every time we want one we need to go through them all which can be pretty backbreaking, it'd be nice to have them in a "toast rack" so we could just flip through them.
For anyone who thinks they have no real skills, we've got jobs for you as well so there's NO excuses at all. We are going to need to make a start on the dismanteling of the porta loo by the new path so we can fit the garage in there.
All this will be going on while work on the press box gets stopped for the day so there is still massive amounts to do, try it, you really might enjoy it! You don't have to become a regular just pop in with a few hours here & there.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Is tomorrows garage move on or not?
I don't fancy sitting at Ulverston like a spare part waiting for somebody to turn up.
