Yet another baffling decision.
They've won more league games then us this season...
They've lost more league games than us too...

TK was on Radio Cumbria before saying that no one had been signed yet, when put on the spot about Edmo, he played a straight bat (as you would expect) and when asked if anyone would be in place by tomorrow, he said it would take as long as it would take, to do it properly.
I don't belieeeeeeeve it!

3 wins out of 15 games. Wow, I can certainly see why we've made an approach for such a great manager...
3 wins to our 2. On a much much smaller budget. Scored more goals then us too.

You can't "see" anything judging by your post... I'm always amazed by some sections of our fanbase's lack of perspective and sense of realism. Who would you have appointed?

Joking aside! (yes I know not very good at it anyway) I think the club have had time to take stock have a serious look at the direction the club as a whole want to go down. A return closer to Barrow not Manchester or Preston, to training in this area to being part of the community and showing a willingness to nurture and bring on talent from this area. With someone like Edmondson rather than Meechan (who has improved the way we have played credit to him for that) we have someone with connections to the wider county and outlying areas. Let's hope we can build a club with a future, one that as locals we all can be proud of. It won't be easy, it won't happen overnight, but I for one am glad it looks like we are going to give it one hell of a go!!!

We get who we get and should get behind them, not crucify them before they've even started the most difficult job. :scarf: :scarf: :scarf: :scarf:

I have no idea who the other candidates were, so it's impossible to make that call. I've heard plenty of names linked with the job though, many of which would've been higher up my 'wanted list' ahead of Darren Edmondson. I'd be lying if I said I was surprised by any of it though. I've come to expect the unexpected as far as decisions by the BOD go. When you get board members coming out with the type of quotes like they have recently, then it makes you wonder. Comments such as "Dave Bayliss is a superb manager". The mind boggles.

Darren Edmondson, out of the frying pan and into the fire.
He's taken a massive sideways step.
No great loss to the Reds.
Judging by some comments on here, some Barrovians think your club has the clout of Real Madrid.

If the EM article is right and as Edmondson says "he will talk to them and see what they have to say". He might say and he has every right to " Stuff your job I have better things to do". Russell Dodd in one of his not thinking before he said it commentator moments when quizzed about the applicants for the job said we have had over 20 apply for the job including some excellent candidates. They can't be that excellent when they are wanting a man who is with a club who's record is nearly as bad as ours this season. This is just another of the many cockups the BOD have made in recent times and one that will prolong us faster down to the Evostick.

Edmondson was on the original shortlist and was in Barrow on Monday for his interview, have some people not read the last 2/3 pages of this thread.

This is the same man who said in the evening mail that Alex Meechan has done an excellent job as caretaker manager (2 points from 3 league games) and Dave Bayliss is a superb manager. I think he needs to look up the words 'excellent' and 'superb' in the dictionary.

That's been confirmed by the club or Edmondson himself has it?

No but I think it's fairly obvious.

Anyone who is still in the slightest bit of doubt that Edmondson will be the new manager needs to go and sit in the corner and have a word with themselves!

Loving the Workington reaction must be terrible realising you are a tiny club heading back to the glue leagues.

As for the comments talk about over reaction on here has everyone forgot he was a successful caretaker manager here before he moved up the coast give the guy a chance.

I genuinely think most people haven't got a clue about wider non-league football who just follow the crowd regarding candidates and other clubs.

That is exactly where you will be going with Edmo in charge, do you not realise we have wanted rid of him for weeks now.
