Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Quick couple of hours in at the ground tomorrow afternoon for those who feel a little energetic. 12:30 start & jobs for any skilled or unskilled supporter.
A breakdown would be -
A van or trailer to pick up wood from Jacksons Timber.
Make a start on assembling the new garage.
Painting the MDF boards that we have in the GMA for the press box.
Making a "toast rack" in the GMA for all the advertising boards.
Finish boxing off around the new shop.
Cleaning the ground.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Ground Maintenance Area
I will be there at dinner friday for a couple of hours. Could do with a hand getting the workshop light up....tommy?
Re: Ground Maintenance Area
I will be there around 12.30 tomorrow...bit of a last get together to end a fabulous year for the team, capture last bits of progress on the camera and get those extra lights up in the workshop....really has been a fantastic year so many thanks for all contributions of time money or advise. We all kept smiling through the low points on the field on cold wet Sunday mornings and yet surpassed our expectations and hopefully the supporters.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
Decent little turn-out with plenty being done.
Another light was fitted in the GMA by Exile & myself now awaiting either bigcod or Whitty 69 to connect it up. No big improvement so far as most fans can see but a massive help for those who work in there.
Me & Exile also had a look at the piece of cement render that people have mentioned to us on the corner of Wilkie Rd & Holker St. It was bad!
Although only a section about a foot square had come off it was how much that was about to come off that had us worried, what also worried us was when we started tapping around it sounded hollow over a very large area. In the end we put a pinch bar behind it & a piece about ten foot by four foot fell off & dropped at our feet. It looks terrible but at least it's not going to drop off & hit someone now. Trouble is that's now another job to do, so............anyone with any plastering skills??? We need someone who knows what they're doing to tell us just how much needs to come down & whether they can also help us out by putting some new render up, we've got the unskilled labourers to help you but not the plastering know how.
Mrssenorita & bigcod have managed to connect the new pop side shop up with power so that can be used tomorrow, they also have sorted all the locks out on the shutters so all that is one step closer to becoming a proper, fully usable shop.
Elaine was busy cleaning our new managers office out to create a good first impression of his new working enviroment, she was still there when everyone else had left.
Gareth & his mate were lining the pitch ready for tomorrow. He rolled it again during the week & apparently the players commented even after the one roll last week how it seemed more even.
Fantastic effort by all involved in donating the money to allow us to buy it & especially Shane for matching the donated money.

I thought the same. The whole thing looks dodgy, perhaps it might be worth showing the college people to see what they think.capman wrote:That wall realy needs taking down and a new one put back up when it was rendered it should off had co pings on top off it so the water did not get down it when you look at it now the wall is leaning
One smallish job that's now starting to look more & more like a big one.

Re: Ground Maintenance Area
The outside light leading from the front of the building to the nodding gate wasn't working last night---might need a new bulb or possibly something more detailed. It was really dark when fans were leaving the ground.
Yes Ian it was 7-45pm when I left. Everything was spick and span though.
I now have a little helper, a young lad that is going to go in the changing rooms after the games to tidy them up before the main clean. Really made up he was to be involved.
