fair play to Worcester they did their homework but a draw would have been a fair result. They had one shot on goal and scored. A game like this was always going to happen sometime. Maybe the pressure is off the players now and we can go on another run, who knows right? Williams by far the MOTM

Re: BARROW AFC vs WORCESTER CITY
Typical physical Conference North side today... Big strong lads, very niggly, know how to manage games to prevent momentum building and play the referee, and solid as a unit.
Dissapointing yet again from ourselves. I posted this below after the Oxford game:
Cribley had another shocker, really liked him early on but just not doing much of anything at the moment. Burns and Williams the only two who come out of today with any real credit. Thought Marsh was fairly lively but just didn't get the service in a place where he could do any damage.
We weren't particularly good against Oxford or Colwyn Bay but somehow got 4 points from those two, and sounds like first half we really weren't at the races and found ourselves 2 down at Stockport, so I guess a loss has been coming... Hard to be critical after the run and performances we've had, just disappointing to lose the unbeaten run in such a whimper.

Why oh why did we yet again waste 99% of our possession or build up by just floating a ball in the air for their big strikers to lap up. It's patently obvious to everyone in the ground it's not working, so why do we proceed with it? Against these sorts of sides you need a bit of width and speed to get round the side or in behind, not just try and battering ram through two 6ft centre halves and two banks of 4 right down the middle. Play it on the deck, try and get at these big lumbering defenders that you find in this league, and that's when you'll find openings. Not 90mins of heading practice. As it was I thought we were quite disappointing in parts today. We looked much the better team, granted, but that's only because Oxford were absolutely rubbish, and were very much there for the taking. How many times we must have crossed balls into the box knowing Rushy and Marsh aren't the biggest, only to see there defenders lap everything up. When we started trying to pass the ball around the edge to find an opening or get to the byline we looked much more of a threat, just seemed quite careless in our final play today. Likewise not sure why but we didn't really play with the same intensity or tempo as usual, particularly first half where I was really hoping we'd press them from the off.

We did do it, several times in the second half in fact where Cribley launched long-throws into the box. Problem was we never won a single one of the flick ons (usually O'Donnell) so they never came to anything.Jonty wrote: Only grumble from me today was our repeated insistence on playing short throw in's to feet when inline with the Worcester area. We failed repeatedly to get the ball in the box from these throw- ins. Then what happens other end- Worcester throw from a similar position, no messing about- straight into the box- we couldn't deal with it- and they score.!

Even more disappointed after looking at the league table. If we had won yesterday we would have been 5 pts behind Solihull with a game in hand and we have to play them. Yep there are others who have games in hand inc Boston but we have them at home next and the they've just lost to the Wukki's. If things had been differentvyesterday the miracle could realistically have been on !

How on earth did they miss that chance towards the end when McMillian had come out of his box?

Bump.
I agree with Ste above, only Burns and Williams came out with credit yesterday. Also agree about Cribley; to me he has a bit of inventiveness and imagination but he was very poor yesterday and produced a typical bit of "flash" near the end which almost led to a second goal for them. Can Edmo find a way to bring his quality to the fore and eliminate the nonsense because the Cribley that turned out yesterday is not acceptable.
