Yep, lets decide the future of the club based on the quality of the prospective owners' acoustic quality

You could say I gave myself a reason for not having an answer. Still does not answer the question and it won't get answered unless he actually takes over which is disappointing.

He talks of investment but lacks an exit strategy to reap the rewards, pays back any loans or sell the business on, no end product apart from a hope of being in the football league with an improved ground, which might not happen. Maybe that is why PC himself says it is not without risk, he doesn't know himself. Makes it all sound like a shot in the dark but by the sounds of it, it is fast becoming the last option unless we crave ever struggling mediocrity. The BOD sound like they have had enough and we will struggle if PC does not take over, as if we didn't already know that. Roll on AGM/EGM.

1-0 to Mr Casson as he had undivided attention without the distraction of people moving back and forth to the bar and microphones so both questions and answers could be clearly heard.
I can't believe that the club didn't think to provide a simple PA system for such an important meeting.

Or perhaps I can! ;)
Had a flip chart though, it was there all night just behind the quiet bald man. I was waiting for some big grand plan to get unveiled on it, however it never. It just stood there all lonely waiting for someone to flip it.

No, based on being able to hear what both parties have to say and thus basing a decision on that.

You've gotta feel sorry for it haven't you? ;)

Mind you perhaps just as well as it would have added insult to injury for those at the back who wouldn't have been able to see it either!

I can!

Jo am back wrote:This may not interest /bother many people but I felt I had to share it with other Barrow AFC supporters.I have supported my home town club since the age of 8 (strangely the same as Mr Casson) some 42 years.Over this time there have been many good times, many great trips away which I have shared with many great fellow minded Barrovians. The dark days of the seventies are still clear in my mind along with the few successes through the following decades.
Since I was able to understand the financial side of running a club I allways dreamed of a wealthy person taking over and taking MY club to the next level, something which has happened to both Morecambe and Fleetwood in recent times.SV took over and gave us that for a time allthough in the back of your mind you knew it wouldnt last, and it didnt.Since that time and the era of the Keens (who I will Allways be gratefull for what they did and the success and stability on the outside) that they gave us.
In recent years its been a battle to keep the club afloat, with legal penaltys ,monies owed allegedly to various people and supporters divided on the leadership the keens have given us.
All points considered I have made a decision that many will find ridiculous Im sure, having listned and digested everything Mr Casson has stated/promised,the exact things Ive allways wanted for MY club,That if we the members dont accept his proposed takeover I will never go to Holker street (a ground i love) again.A decision I havnt taken lightly but think if other people who pay there money turn up on a saturday would not embrace this mans proposals then I couldnt stand shoulder to shoulder with them anymore. This is a once in a lifetime oppurtunity we must take,to inject our club and take us back to the levels of morecambe and fleetwood ,clubs that were once in our shadow.

You sir; deserve a pat on the back! And I thoroughly agree with you.

There's a sniff of 'Negativity' permeating the air at the moment on here (they'll deny it of course) with some AFC 'Supporters' :? wishing for more transparency with regard to Paul Casson's 'Vision' for our Club - asking for more details and figures to be divulged and a for a voice of reason to be heard???

Why these so called 'Fans' can't put FAITH in this man is beyond me!
He was born and bred in Barrow - he's a fan of the Club - he wants to do something in remembrance of his Father. He seems a DECENT man.

I'd like to quote the contents of a text I received from a friend - who has no interest, whatsoever, in either Football or Barrow AFC - who responded to a message I sent him in relation to the 'Apathy' I have noticed from some on here. What follows - with his permission - is the contents of his message:

"That's typical of the narrow minded bigots who epitomise the root problem of this town. Someone comes along with a Vision, and the money, to possibly attain it; and all they get is 'Who does he think he is? Do they want the team to lanquish in obscurity forever?"

Those words from a NEUTRAL observer, for me, speak Volumes!...or dare I say it?...The Truth.

There was Captain Dan and Billy Bones and me...
