Re: Players
It all depends on what happens with regards to Paul Cassons proposed takeover. If it gets the green light then I would imagine the budget would be considerably bigger and the players we could tempt would be a lot more and possibly better quality. Wait and see what happens with this for now, its all we can do.

If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Re: Players
Jason Walker and lots of others were released from Forest Green today, but I could see Jason staying at Southport

Re: Players

Perhaps we should be looking at this lad particularly with the Henny connection.

Seems we could be involved (might just be paper talk). However I don't think we could compete with the mighty Nation unless someone taps up Matt Henney at this upcoming dinner.

Re: Players
Attacking wing-back Matty McGinn who has just won his second successive Conf North promotion (Chester and Telford) looks set to leave the Shropshire club for the same reason he left Chester, because he can't commit to the travelling involved in the Prem (apparently he works as a leccy on Hollyoaks).

Re: Players
Just a thought...if we are aspiring to be promoted within a 2 year period then why would we consider signing someone who cant commit to playing in that league. Even more so with PC hoping that we are bringing in a good core of players with the intention of them being here for more than a season or two.

Re: Players
a lot of footballers at this level are fickle, as soon as they realise there is some cash knocking about they will queuing all the way down to Abbey road. its separating those football mercenaries from those who want to progress and win that is the main issue. we need to ensure task cohesion.

I don't expect that we will be throwing 'silly money' around, just a reasonably competitive wage for the league we are in.
Re: Players
Agree that Edmo is going to have to sort the wheat from the chaff. Last time we were in this position we attracted far to much chaff. However the big difference now is that, compared to Owen Brown, Edmo has a great deal more experience both as a p[layer and to a lesser degree as a manager. I trust him to get it right.
Incidentally I've already made mention of a couple of players. This is just idle banter not a statement of intent for people to get het up about.

Re: Players
May have missed this in all the other information so apologies if I'm re-treading old ground. However, have we any idea - very approximately - how much maybe invested in the playing squad next season considering the amount of work we have to do on floodlights etc in the next few weeks
