Pop down to Belize and play the National Team (think they have only ever won once and then they all became national super heroes)Matty wrote:2015/2016 pre-season North American Tour would be nice.

Would be more like Barrow vs. Ottawa Fury. (i.e 3rd division North American teams)

Re: Takeover vote OFFICIAL RESULT
I very rarely post on this forum, (though read everyday), This is because I don't feel qualified to do so a lot of the time, due to fact that I don't get to Holker Street much these days. During my younger days I would have a season ticket and attend a large number of away games and the football was my life. However you grow up and move away, Relationships and kids come along, and the football takes on a lot less importance, Well that's what's happened with me, Having said that, I have always been a supporter.
I would just like to say how happy I am that this man and come along and provides everybody with the Club at heart, a real hope for the future, I am sure this will have an uplifting effect on the town as a whole, because ( and doubtless I will upset a few people for sure ) the Club was a reflection of the town as a whole for me (it had seen better days and didn't seem to have a beating heart anymore)
Lets hope that the club retains it's identity though and can regain some of the pride that I felt being a supporter through the Wilkie years,
Morecambe to me have done this in a great way, despite moving to a new ground. Having been a in the boxes a few times there with Work, I have to say they do a great job on corporate side of things and I think this is great way to spend a day on special occasions and would love to be able to do this at Holker Street. I would love to watch the club I love in a bit more comfort not to mention, viewing football worth watching,
The times I did watch in the last few seasons, the fayre on offer was just awful to endure, both on and off the pitch
I hope Paul Casson can capture some of the passion that I see on this Forum, as I think some of the groups that have been spawned on this Forum have been the real reason the club has survived over the past couple of seasons, when it seemed those at the Helm of the club didn't have a plan for the way forward.
Anyway, I have waffled enough, and could the grammer police be kind to me, I am not the most literate of people. Just had to say how chuffed I am that this has happened, Enjoy the ride...........

Great post.
Re: Takeover vote OFFICIAL RESULT
In my life time as a barrow fan there have been 4 "momentous" occasions(like them or not.)1) kicked out of league.2)vaughn takeover.3)resurrection under keens.4)Casson take over.heres to a happy ending.pjdaly wrote:I have just scanned the front pages of two Evening Mails that I have in my possession, one from 42 years ago and the other - - - well - - - from today actually. They both represent momentous days in our history and, for obviously very different reasons, are precious covers. Let us dream along with Paul Casson that the long road back to the FL begins today.
Seasons to be cheerful.Part 16 3/4

Re: Takeover vote OFFICIAL RESULT
Thursday is what I heard, maybe Pete could confirm or at least hint.
Steve Herbert supports the nob theory - Saturday 4th February 2012.
If this bus crashed and everybody on it died, Barrow football would end - Daz Boyle, Boston away, August 9th 2014.

Not entirely sure to be honest, it takes as long as it takes as its in the hands of the FA and Conference so in a sense its out of our hands. As soon as their is any update i'll let you know.Eric Cartman wrote:Thursday is what I heard, maybe Pete could confirm or at least hint.
The important thing is that the old and new board are working together to makes sure the club keeps moving forward, and their is lots of work going on, including speaking to players for next season, and looking at urgent issues like shirts/floodlights etc.
