Yeovil, I blame the cider in their clubhouse.

Hereford, I blame the railway company for replenishing the catering trolley at Swindon - we felt morally obliged to relieve them of the stocks of alcohol. And as for after the game - it wasn't our fault that the railway station wasn't where we had left it!

Surprised that no-one has mentioned Atherstone yet.

Wembley 1990 - weekend in Bath and through to London on the train. Unforgettable. Ended up in some dingy club that I think was a converted underground bog. Leyland Bluebirds idea. He was a northern monkey on heat in his Vause for Vauxhall top.
Morecambe away 1998 - evening match. Barrow in top voice. Remember thinking their pitch looked great and was told some years later it was done by the same fella who did Fleetwood's.
Dover- Overnight buses from Ramsden Square. I made an enormous flag for this one.
Bolton away 1990 Loved that old ground. Couldn't get in any pubs though. Massive Barrow following that day. We nearly won that one!
Oldham in the cup. Chaddy the Owl getting some stick and some lid getting turfed out for chucking his pie at a steward. Great game
Wembley 2010- On a weekend stag do in Edinburgh- Flew down to that London on some ridiculously cheapojet day return. Back out in Edinburgh for 9. Remains one of the best weekends ever.

good work Steve!!

Eastbourne tops it for me recently, just an amazing day and pulling into the car park to see everyone was magical!! big shout to Big Tony!! And as Steve points out a river not far from me got what was coming to it verbally!

Solihull was great as we all got [SwearFilter] outside the ski lodge, I got a free burger and Langy set fire to my pubes.

Northwich away i think when Reg nicked a bog seat and nearly did bird for it!!

Wembley pt 2 as i dont remember much of Pt 1 - Green Man beer garden was great.

and er......Cambridge PT 2 - because part 1 was not good!!

Top five for me would include, in no particular order;

Salisbury - FA Trophy Semis. Great journey down with ace company, a whistle stop tour of Stonehenge (wonderful, wonderful place. Always wanted to go there). Blundell balling the ball into the net, cracking result toppped off a great day.

Wembley - FA Trophy. Another great journey, passing cars decked in blue and white, flying around Barrow beforehand and realising the streets were deserted, all gone to that London. The Green Man, never did see the bar or the inside for that matter. Heysham Blue doing her ankle/foot, oh and we won a bit!

Middlesbrough - FA Cup. Seeing so many Barrovians (many who don't come to regular matches, but that's a debate for a different thread) up in the north east was fantastic, somehow it seemed better than the Sunderland game for some reason, but both fantastic days out.

Wrexham - BSP. The 'warm' Welsh welcome, strewn with expletives which made us smile at the idiots, Wrexham leading one nil til Nicky Rogan scores jolly late on which really [SwearFilter] off the Welsh. The naughty 'Your Welsh and you......', song, was it this match that had the 'talent compo at half time? But best of all was the young Welsh giving us some grief in our car just after we left the car park, my mate Billy winds the window down and shouts to them in full voice 'admit it, you want to be English', marvellous! The lads went mental, we just continued our journey home.

Dover - FA Trophy. The pre-match build up, which included me and my old mate Si Taylor drunkenly emailing a newspaper hack from the local Dover rag and telling him how crap his team were and how we'd see off the insolent upstarts that were Dover Athletic (which actually lead to a bit of a informal friendship in the end), the day out, blue hair spray, seeing all our football friends down there. The trip up to the castle, drinking til late in a pub, which has since been closed. Getting lost in that London after being told of a great shortcut, we ended up in E17 with a load of dodgy looking Eastend wannabe gangster looking types. Great times!

Burton - BSP Playoff final. Offering a seat in the car to a random stranger, turned out to be my mate Di's mate from years ago, accidentally wandering into the ladies loo in the motorway service station and telling the lass entering on my way out 'well one of us is in the wrong place love', me! To my mate Simon Martin arriving at the ground and finding a flour leaf clover, the amazing atmosphere, the really amazing atmosphere, to that goal (yeah it was probably offside, but who cares) the great pitch invasion afterwards. Unforgettable!

Wembley- Green Man, bod to the ground, going absolutely sick when Walker scored. Then after the game went to fabric, got absolutely plastered and pulled an Argentinian bird.

Morecambe Away Pre-Season 2008(?)- Went to see Tim Westwood at Club M the night before, had a few hours kip and jumped on the train, big squad in Morecambe. No idea of the result but got plastered, had a kickabout at the back of the stand. Came back to Barrow and went to Scorpio with the Bown brothers and Colty to see Joey Riot. Ended up in Millom.

Eastbourne- Class weekend, one of my first big away jobs with some of the lads. Decent night out before the match, sunny as owt for the game, Boydy scored a screamer and we had a lovely time at the pub.

Burton- Went with some mates from Uni one of which lived in Nottingham. Got leathered of Gold Label that was about 10p a can from the offy, legged it on the pitch with me top off. Night out in Nottingham after it was a belter too got everyone in a takeaway singing Barrow songs.

Sunderland- 3 night bender with Colty/Story/Jimbo/Altree/Chief/Collins the four can cockney. Most of the stories are not safe to put on the forum but we had such a lovely time. It had everything, donk, altrees dancing, super mario, absinthe, birds with wooden teeth, dairylea, funny looking birds from accrington and a kettle full of [SwearFilter].

In terms of actual football there were better ones; 1st Cambridge and Salisbury Semi to name a couple but I like the trip as a whole.

Agreed with that, was my 18th birthday weekend which made it all the more lovely. You forgot Jim Cook in your list though.

The Braintree 3-2 when we came back from 2-0 down to win was class, loads of us on the bus for it for Stus birthday, completely took over their clubhouse.

Eastbourne last game of the season was very special, big squad of us on the train down early, night out, seriously hot weather, Burnzio benchpressing homosexuals, and a screamer from MVB.

Fleetwood away where we all drank in Blackpool pre-game on bank holiday monday. We got beat, but the pre-match was tremendous. Think that was the day Hayman debut'd his giant fish finger jacket.

Then obviously Wembley 2010, will take a lot to top that.

Been some belting awayers, and plenty more to come hopefully!

Surprised no one has mentioned our visit to Lewes. The Dripping Pan, great name for a ground that.

Trophy game at Maidenhead on a Tuesday night .Little did we know then we were going to go on and win it. 301 spectators and Rufus the Labrador dog. Their goalkeeper saying he wanted to play up north as we were trying to distract him and the raffle ticket seller spending the whole of the second half walking up and down trying to find the winner of the raffle after the announcer had read the wrong number out, He was still asking as we were leaving the ground. Me and Martin Lewis had the number either side of the winner. Our lads running back into the ground at the end as they were selling the burgers off at 50p each.

The best part of that match Al. The game being played and Daz running up and down the running track and dipping over the imaginary line.
I won't mention Mr Story's "event".

Life on the road (or rail) with Barrow, to get us in the mood for next year- never mind this World Cup stuff.

5 of mine are

Kidderminster Away 2008: First Time I went on the bus, won the sweep, broke down, invaded a service bus, all the time dressed as a steward for a mickey take with tabards someone had lifted out the yard. Very drunk, we won, commentary said "and the stewards are dancing"

Wembley 2010 for the walk to ground, Ruins giving me a can of Jack Daniels and Coke at 6am, Reg's voluble complaints climbing the hill to the pub, the march, the hysteria, bedlam.

Woking Away- We got stuffed and the game was crap, but in London with friends, crossing the Thames, great pubs, sunshine, Grant Holt bought us all beer on the way home.

Eastbourne Away- The pub car park, the conga, f--ing Ribble!

Chester last season, support was wonderful, two poor teams at the times but we played with real heart, great day out all day.

It's making me think of about 20 more- can't beat it. Roll on next season.
Top memories a.b and it makes me think of the many more we have yet to come under the new regime :) i am looking forward to this season more than any before !!
