first home game of the season
the first home game of the season will be advertised from tomorrow morning on the corner of holker st and wilkie road and also by the reception area these next game boards were kindly donated to us from graphix signs if anybody has any other location where they think a game advertisment would be of any benefit please let me know

Barrow Borough Sports Council advertise all the Raiders games via the weekly e.bullitin that gets sent out to approx 1000 individuals/clubs etc. They even do specific game adverts for the rugby. Can't remember whether they've done the same for the Soccer but it would be another FREE avenue to explore.

Centre of town at top of Portland Walk.

There's that poster thingy at the front of buses that everyone sat on a bus has to look at , maybe get in touch with stagecoach????
Re: first home game of the season
Or maybe somewhere with regular footfall such as Mattie's,which is near the ground anyway.
Also, how about Corals outlets.--Just an idea.

Chorley FC junk mailed a flier round our way with fixtures etc printed for the first couple of months of the season, even going so far as to include train times and bus info from our local station. It was paid for by their supporters trust IIRC.
An idea worth exploring, with local emphasis on travel for Dalton and Ulverston?

Corals etc won't let you leave stuff like that, we've tried before.mally wrote:Or maybe somewhere with regular footfall such as Mattie's,which is near the ground anyway.

You could probably do that Rich, would cost not far south £500 IMO
3 week radio advert on The Bay would be similar and I bet we could do a deal re a board or some advertising for it.
Re: first home game of the season
Raiders have had a trailer advertising board on the Barrow bound side of the A590, part way between Swarthmoor & Lindal for most of the season. Couldn't we do something similar, don't know what/who their arrangement is with but it's in a fairly prominent position.

FC UTD leaflet local shops/ food outlets/ co ops within 30 mile radius, detailing next 3 home games etc. Funding would be an issue but it's a thought.
Stood behind Ray Wilkie for years. Best education I ever had.
Re: first home game of the season
Corals won't let us promote our home games in their shops? Can't see our main shirt sponsor being too happy about that !!

Re: first home game of the season
Posters printed out 'on the sly' by a couple of fans at work for upcoming matches & put up in local takeaways / off-licences / co-ops etc is a free variation on this idea. I remember a few of us did it when we briefly flirted with the BSP play-offs in the last week's of Shezza's reign! Does Dave Chubb still produce his posters? If not I'm sure I could knock something up in about 15 minutes. Either way it wouldn't do any harm for a few of us to get 20-30 up around the town between now & the weekend to help increase local awareness of the Gainsboro match...thegaffer77 wrote: FC UTD leaflet local shops/ food outlets/ co ops within 30 mile radius, detailing next 3 home games etc. Funding would be an issue but it's a thought.
