Re: Club Captain.
Important consideration, that. Livesey doesn't rhyme with much.
Personally I want the captain to set an example with their tackling, and never give up on a game just because you're behind. Beyond that, I'm not too fussed, anyone in consideration is going to be vocal, one of the guys the younger lads look up to, and be fairly experienced.

Re: Club Captain.
Grand is Barrow AFC team captain
DARREN Edmondson has made centre-back Simon Grand his match day general by appointing him as Barrow AFC’s team captain.
NEW ROLE Simon Grand will be the Barrow AFC team captain this season
The Bluebirds boss had already announced that another of his experienced defenders, Danny Livesey, has taken on the role of club captain.
The ex-Carlisle man’s duties will include representing the AFC squad – such as in the media – when called upon.
But it is Grand – who skippered Telford to the Conference North title last season – who will wear the captain’s armband on the pitch.
In explaining his decision, Edmondson said: “Grandy captained Telford to the title and was also captain at Southport.
“He’s a natural leader, like Danny is – they are both fantastic characters, not just during games but in training, plus in and around the football club in the way they conduct themselves.
“So it was a difficult one (to decide the roles) between the pair of them. But, at times, if we need a spokesperson on behalf of the players, etc, then I think Danny is respected in the changing room and obviously he is articulate and knows football inside out.
“So it was the definite choice for them to being given some added responsibilities for their standard of play and characters.”
Grand and Livesey are aged 30 and 29 respectively and bring a wealth of experience to the Barrow squad, with the latter spending almost 10 years with Carlisle.
The duo were team-mates at Carlisle, while Grand has also played in the Football League with Rochdale, Grimsby, Morecambe and Aldershot.
Such accomplishments and their professional attitude to work means the pair have instantly earned the respect of their team-mates, making them the ideal captaincy picks.
Edmondson said: “The players see their attributes and Danny and Simon have helped in creating the team spirit and pushing people in training.
“They set the standards in training that everybody follows.
“So it’s nice that there is recognition from the players and I think that everybody looks up to those two, they are the two dominant ones in there, if you like.”

Re: Club Captain.
Choice of captain does make a big difference like, even at local level.
And it's a big status thing in the dressing room.
Decent captains I've played with often lead some of the team talks at half time and provide encouragement/dish out rollockings during the match. Being the captain puts them on a pedestal of automatic respect generally, unless they're a tit like.

You left that last sentence unfinished,
