Nice win in the end, but not very convincing. Attendance 1401!

Must be the quality of coal I'm shovelling into the back of the radio. It's obviously higher grade stuff in N. Yorks.

Letting flares off and what looked like pushing stewards - no need

Some of the issue was caused by the stewards pushing and knocking fans down the steps who were further down the terrace who got pretty irate, not just those by where the smoke was coming from.

Would still question why we're playing 3 at the back as other than the 15 mins at the end of each half we weren't great. Knocking a hopeful long ball to Cook/Reid we gave the ball away too easily and looked pretty shaky at the back. We never did this in pre-season and the players we have as wing backs aren't wing backs and don't get forward enough or when they do leave us open at the back.
However when in possession Reid in particular is running at them all night and Cook looks dangerous. Was ARH injured as I was surprised he was taken off when he was? Pilkington's free kick was incredible and turned the game for us. Glad Wilson got the reward of the 3rd goal after his efforts in the build up and after his header came back off the post. Not pretty but we got the result in the end.

What a funny game football is.

Played far worse than we did on Saturday, yet managed a win. I'm sorry but the formation needs to change for the next game. 3 centre backs isn't the way forward, especially when you haven't got natural wing-backs playing. We were really sloppy in parts tonight, particularly the midfield where we looked absent at times. Stick to 4-4-2 on Saturday.

Cook had a good game for us, and I'm made up for Wilson getting on the scoresheet finally! Great free kick by Pilkington for the 2nd ;)

3 points, but needs to be better if we are going to challenge for the title.

Lets just leave it at that and not start silly stuff after a good result.

Fortunate win in my opinion, scrappy at times and the ball was up in the air far far too much. Gainsborough were not a bad side but we never played anywhere near enough football on the deck and don't look as solid at the back as I thought we would. Not convinced by our centre midfield anonymous at times. Points on the board but much to improve on.

1471.........brilliant, absolutely fantastic attendance.

I'm not too sure the the commentators were getting it right looking at some of the comments from supporters listening to the radio coverage. We looked pretty comfortable for most of the first half with Reid causing havoc, Cooky looking dangerous & Jase being a bit of a thorn in their side.
Bit worried about how things don't look as solid at the back as they did in pre-season, hopefully when McWilliams returns things will settle down.

Reids goal was pretty special & well deserved for the first half perfomance alone. Jase had a good penalty shout turned down but again as in pre-season he seems to make more of the foul than he has to.
Didn't like the way everything just seemed to open up for their goal, having said that I didn't have a very clear view of it.
Pilks goal direct from the free kick was fantastic, even if he hadn't scored it, it was the delivery of the ball right into the danger area (he nearly did the same from the opposite side ten minutes later)
The third was down to Andy Burns not giving up on what looked like a lost cause, then the same with Ant Wilson in front of the goal.
Reid & Pilks look like they'll cause plenty of problems for teams this season, Reid did flag a bit in the second half though. Fantastic having two class wingers in the same team again....it's been a while.

That should keep the the extra support interested for Saturday hopefully.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Once we click we will be amazing

It wasn't the best bit nervous I thought

Great att

And good goals - onwards and upwards

One flare not flares - fans pushing stewards or stewards pushing fans ? Depends how you view things
