Still not looking quite right just yet but it'll come. I think McWilliams coming back might be the key to our defence all falling into place.

Plenty of good shifts put in today, Cooky monster probably the pick - he must be a nightmare to defend against, far better player than we had two years ago.

We've got to cut out these daft mistakes though because the better teams will punish us & we wont be getting away with the forwards pulling us out all of the time. Izack's poor pass lead to the foul outside the box & the goal.

Feel sorry for Jase as the "goal" he scored should have stood as it was never offside (if it was for something else then fair enough) but atm in the teams interests Ant Wilson has to start next week.

Still can't get the right person to deliver a decent corner kick though, it surely can't be the hardest job on the field!

Not the best of performances but like Tuesday night I never felt we were going to lose.....or draw.

First league game for me and the lad. Enjoyed the day and pleased with the 3 points.

I thought we played well in patches. When we pass the ball around with pace and intent we look good. In fact our first piece of great play resulted in a superb goal by Cook. Simple triangles, good passing, nice cross, excellent header, dead simple! As others have noted, I thought Cook was immense today, big and difficult to mark, wins headers and his touch has improved big style.

All 3 subs made great impacts today, good work Edmo. Wilson looks a good lad, another with pace and aggression and he looks like he has a natural goal scoring ability. I think a start will be coming very soon for him. Walker worked his socks off without much reward, he softens them up allowing Wilson to take the glory!!

Back 4 were solid enough. I like the communication between Grand and Livesey 2 real leaders. We look composed and organised.

Shezza made a difference, driving forward and being a menace and spoiler, not that he had too much to spoil. Crowther was a little disappointing.

Reid looks like a match winner. He can pick a pass and beat a man and again has pace. However, I thought he drifted in and out of the game.

Pilkington was odd and I think he will frustrate fans this year. He looks like he could be a real top player. However, he often got the simple things wrong and made bad choices. He made the first goal with a cracking cross and improved in the 2nd half, maybe he just needs time to get used to his team mates.

All in all I thought we showed real intent to win the game and looked like we have a quality squad. Last 10 mins was very enjoyable!!

Hyde were terrible. They had nothing going forward, especially once Almond limped off. They disrupted the game expertly. They came for a point and looked like they might get one for a little while at least! However, the cream always rises to the top and we got what we deserved, and so did they!

Happy Days, Barrow are rising to the top!

I'll be surprised if anyone beats us at home this season, need to go away next week and get a result now

I wouldn't be surprised if our best results & performances come on the road, The home teams will be expected to come at us and attack thus giving us more opportunities to get at them with the game being more stretched, whereas at Holker St most teams will park the bus, time waste and frustrate at every given opportunity leading to games like yesterday if we don't score early.

Take it easy, we've played a team that don't have much in the way of resources & a team that have just been relegated & must be on one of the worst runs of any team in the country (if you include last season)
