Some very solid performances off Duran after Edmo took over but there is one moment that will stand out for me. We had a free kick well outside the penalty area (attacking the Cross Bar end) Duran stepped up & unleashed one of those Exocet missile type shots that flew past their wall, the keeper was perfectly placed to make the save but as it approached him he must have only had one thought which will have been GET OUT OF THE WAY! unfortunately for us (and him) he never. As the ball came to him in the lower mid section of his body he half bent his knees & the ball hit him in the chest - I've never seen what happened next either on TV or at HS - the force of the shot knocked him clean off his feet & he ended up looking a bit dazed sat on his arse on the goal line.

As a keeper you MUST be hoping someone in the wall does their job & takes the hit for you when Duran steps up.........

Faced one of these once playing in goals for Friars FC at Cartmel. (Probably about 1969/70) The ball dipped at the last minute and hit me just under the rib cage, I held onto it somehow but could hardly breathe or speak for a couple of minutes.

Duran Reynolds was outstanding in his commitment to this club and I am sure the distance he had to travel aside, he would have stayed with us. Travelling from Lincolnshire on a Tuesday winter's night to play for us, probably having been at work, shows the calibre of the man.
I would say it is our loss and Boston's gain.

He had the decency to inform Edmo about what he was hoping to do ,at end of season after being offered terms and I'm sure if it hadn't been for the distance he would have loved to have come back again.Best of luck Duran.(but don't have a good game against us for Boston )
