Good luck to the lad if he does decide to leave.
He's done a good job here but Hey...there'll be PLENTY of applicants for his position if he does decide to leave...
Carlisle are going nowhere.

No worries... :D

I wonder what it would cost carlisel to take Edmo when there are plenty more seasoned and experienced managers looking for work.
I suppose the other danger to us if he goes apart from taking Meeks would be the possibility of tapping one or two of our playing prospects, the obvious one being Cooky.

If Darren wants to go don't think there is much we will be able to do.
What has he done for us ?nothing except taking us from 22nd to 11th in league in his first season,
brought back Walker and Cook and signed a few really good players.
Helped get attendances up by playing well
and top of league so far in this season ;)
Be gutted if he goes at this stage of BarrowAFC revival :scarf: :(

That would be a big gamble as I'm sure a decent transfer fee would asked and for a player who was deemed not good enough for the Conference Premier when at Grimsby.

For goodness sake people, get a grip. Why all this speculation - all because of one betting website publishing a load of managers names that "could" be linked to the vacant Carlisle managers job?
Until/If he's approached ( & that's a big if as there's plenty much more experienced managers out there, and out of work as well ),
he's still our manager and i'd like to keep it that way. In fact, with all this "panicking" you've probably "sown a seed" if he's been reading all this.

This is and the fact he's one of many former players is the reason why he's being linked with Carlisle but not sure Edmo will think like this now though?
If Carlisle want to interview him they'll have to approach Barrow as he's under contract here and until that happens (I don't think it will tbh) then he isn't going anywhere and no statement is needed and all the speculation can be ignored.

Give over, our manager is bookies favourite to get another job. Of course there is going to be some discussion on it.

They will go for a known manager who has the experience of managing at football league level in an effort to maintain league status. They cannot risk making a mistake and DE will remain with us IMHO

And I'm just saying it's a massive over-reaction to a Bookies speculative odds. Calm down, seems to me some people have accepted him gone already...

No one is acting as though he's gone, people are just discussing the possibility based on the fact that he's bookies favourite. All perfectly normal.

Calm down.

BAFC twitter just announced that we've given Carlisle permission to talk to Bayliss.

Full back page of the News and Star up here but only as speculation, partly ignoring his time at Barrow to get the 'Red into Blue' headline for locals.

Inside, a slightly patronising review suggesting Darren might 'not be ready' for Carlisle this time but among about 12 other contenders- not sure Nicky Law with no money would be a better bet. Fans' views seem similar, too soon, leagues too low etc but he is very popular with the fanbase. A few deluded fools appear to think he would go to the mighty Carlisle as someone's assistant  .

If he was offered it he would have to think about it- they are in League 2 and he played for them with some distinction. but I can't see him chasing it and would be an outsider to get the job.

The idea that we shouldn't discuss it when it's in the public domain is laughable and in doing so no-one is planting any seeds, nor indeed wetting any beds
