Blimey, now described as a 'ruthless performance'. Right, that's me on for Colwyn Bay. Well done, Barrow, we all needed it.
Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
A great win, Jason back in the groove and a big fat zero against! Happy days are here again

Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
From DE - Sheridan has a serious hamstring injury, probably out for several weeks.

Well done Barrow we didn't look that convincing until after the 3rd goal went in and we were a bit sloppy at times against a poor Gloucester side but we finished the game well and got a good 3 points and a clean sheet onwards and upwards

Gloucester were awful. Even at 1-0 the keeper was waiting time.
Don't like to see a player get injured but shez off and Harvey on changed the game for me.
One goal and a couple of assists for ARH.

Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
I suppose the obvious choice is to go for Jason as MOTM today given that he got a hat-trick but for me it was (not for the first time) Andy Burns with another tremendous performance.

Harvey for me, . But the 2 centre halfs were also very good in an overall r good team performance.pjdaly wrote:I suppose the obvious choice is to go for Jason as MOTM today given that he got a hat-trick but for me it was (not for the first time) Andy Burns with another tremendous performance.
Clean sheet pleased me more than any individual performance

Can see why Gloucester are in fierce competition with Hyde for bottom spot. However you can only beat what's put in front of you which Barrow did with ease.

Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
Set off like we were on fire but as the first half wore on we seemed to get dragged into a scrappy game. Pilks was looking very dangerous early on but seemed to get pushed further & further back.
Jase deserved his hat trick, he especially deserved his second (?) where he ran virtually back to the half way line, tackled their midfielder & then set up the move which resulted in him finishing it off. I think this has to be why Edmo has stuck with
Jase as his work rate has been outstanding in most games even when not having that little bit of luck.
Cooky looks desperate for a goal now with shots flying in from all over, even once or twice probably trying to do too much when there were better options.
ARH was very busy when he came on & had that bit of luck to get his goal, 8 times out of 10 the ball would have bounced off the keeper & gone safe but this time it sort of squirmed under him....that sort of summed up their number 1's afternoon.
Gloucester were awful, I don't think we'll see much worse at HS all season.
Great result though & an added bonus of Chorley slipping up.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
Started off like a train, we had so much possession but after the goal the flow of the game was very stop / start. Gutted for Shez, he went down in a lot of agony. The forced change with Harvey coming on and once again he showed us what he can do. He links up well with the forwards but also does a lot of defending too which he's added to his game.
The opposition were very poor, so not going to get carried away but we've got a very good set of players. Just really need to sort out the away form because at home we are a real force.

Yep don't think its a coincidence when Barrow play well ARH is on the pitch. Simply has to be given a run in the team imo, most fans can see this why cant Edmo?Jonty wrote:Started off like a train, we had so much possession but after the goal the flow of the game was very stop / start. Crossbar looks quality. Pitch is looking even better. Edmo almost nearly even played his best team! (Lacey out ARH in). Very good performance. Last half hour especially good. ARH and Jase were different class. Lets not moan this week eh!

Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
Great win considering we played with 10 men as Lacey never contributed after he got his Yellow Card
Re: BARROW AFC vs GLOUCESTER CITY
Not an outstanding performance by any stretch of the imagination. 5-0 by the fact Gloucester were shocking at the back and lacked the ability to apply any constant pressure and retain the ball. They only seemed to have the ball when Barrow couldn't be bothered to chase it. Did McMillan have to make any real saves? Stopped a few tame long range efforts and did his Bruce Grobbelaar impersonation in an attempt to give them a chance, not much else.
Cook had an off day again, caught offside repeatedly and failed to convert a few chances with his first touch, instead opting to just retain possession. Not much wrong with the rest of his game apart from getting a little wound up in the 2nd, probably a good idea he was subbed. Walker was very good and got a bit luck with his shot from outside the area, looked like he scuffed it a bit but it went in. Deserved his hat-trick, good work rate. ARH outstanding when he came on, his burst through the defence for the goal 20 odd seconds into the 2nd half was outstanding, as was his strong run over a 3rd of the pitch for an excellent assist to Walker. Shame we needed more than few chances in front of goal to convert instead of taking the first chance on offer, chances courtesy of Gloucester's inability to clear the danger. Overall a positive result and could have been more had the team clicked, need to keep improving and keep the results coming if they want promotion, doing well.
I think the single thing that stands out from this game, is that the side did not play that well but eventually crushed the opposition. A bit more like the Barrow we saw before the debacle that was Runcorn and the lack lustre performances since. Hopefully back on track, now just avoid too many changes.
Hows Sheridan by the way? He was carried off in 1st half, didn't see what happened to him on the halfway line.
