Lancashire cup

Bit of a furore on the Stockport forum because Warrington are charging a tenner for their Cheshire Cup game tonight. Apparently the Cheshire FA state full price has to be charged (probably a bigger cut for them). The argument about whether we should enter the LT comes up every year and the answer is the same. AntIquated FA rules state that if ewe don't enter we can't enter the FAC or the FAT.Personally I still yearn for the old Lancs Senior Cup. Some titanic battles with the blues and reds of Manc/Liverpool not to mention Burnley,Blackburn and Blackpool. Four figure gates and opponents who had been or would become stars at the top of the tree.
Tonight should be an opportunity for Taylor,Willis,Cowps,Cribley,Crowther,Wilson and Ellison to get 75-90 minutes under their belt. Grand must be left out. One card from suspension he surely can't be gambled against a whistle-happy,glory-seeking Lancashire FA referee

Yes It's a long way from Lancashire to Cumbria, by my reckoning they're next door to each other

Should we be promoted this season skipper those days will be back as new rules bought in by the lfa have seen conference premier sides placed in the lancashire senior cup.

If we have to be in this competition to enter the FA Cup & Trophy, then why don't the football league & Premier League teams have to enter it too?

Premier Division down to Vanarama Premier go in the senior cup, the rest of us go in the junior.

I'd love to see us have a decent run. I know a lot knock it but for me it I enjoy the chance to go to different grounds for a change, and it is nice to get in before half 11 on a midweek game. If we could do a deal where we played all our games in the competition away from home that would be spot on.

Jimmy, for the last good few years the semis have been held at the LFA County Ground at Leyland (nearest ground to me...can you see why I would like us to progress for once!!!) and the final at the now renamed Macron Stadium in Bolton. At the very least I would expect the semis still to be played in Leyland as it is a £ spinner for the LFA.

PL and FL sides and as Adam says Conf Premier sides, play in the Senior Cup, the competition Skipper mentioned that we used to play in as a FL side.
