Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Not quite, into final minute of injury time.

Chorley drop two points, happy days.
Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Well done Barrow. Good to hear James Phillips commentary. Sounded like a comfortable win.

Enjoyed that, even Dodd wasnt as bad as usual. Listened to it driving back from Barrow and managed commentary all the way back to Chorley, the AM reception lasting all the way back. :flag: :flag:

When I dipped in Dodd was talking over and interrupting in his normal way. Had to turn it off.Richard Ingham wrote:Enjoyed that, even Dodd wasnt as bad as usual. Good win. Top 3 all getting 3 points today, so as you were.
On some of todays games...
Guiseley destroyed Stockport from what I've heard, the Oli Johnson show apparently.
Fylde putting 3 past struggling Stalybridge, no play-off final against them this season.
Solihull 3-0 up in the 1st half, then Lowestoft reduced to 10 men came back with 3 goals for 3-3, not a bad away point for them.
Hyde clocking up their second league win of the season 1-0 against last seasons 2nd place North Ferriby.
It appears that only 2 Conference North games will be played next weekend. Possibility of opening up a 7 point lead next weekend.

We don't often see Lacey and Harvey together in the centre but it sounded like they had a good game in there together. Harvey right on top of his game at the moment.

Got to be chuffed with a win and a clean sheet away from home. Sounded like Ellison made the most of a rare start - credit to him.

Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Can't really see why the game was segregated; I counted 36 Barrow supporters in the half of the ground allocated to us (there were also a few in the stand), and the age profile - me included - was biased towards the upper end. The man in the catering van wasn't best pleased, as with so few potential customers he was losing money; it seems that he hadn't been told about the segregation and had brought far more food than he could sell, even at half price or less after the interval.
Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
A workman like performance from the team today with most of the players putting in superb shifts , ARH had one of his best games of the season. Tony McMillan safe and reliable when called upon, producing a fine save late on.
amazed to see the stewards having to leave us vulnerable and alone to go an attend to trouble between the segregated Gainsborough fans, a strange lot
Thank goodness we were segregated from them
!
Funniest moment of the game was the celebration of the first goal by one of our supporters, running around the terrace with a dust bin on his head and the steward trying to pursue him, absolutely surreal.
Also two lady linespersons for the first time that I can recall at a game, who both officiated very well as did the referee for the most part. Shame about the caterer who had been told to expect around 250 away supporters
His food was great as were the ales in the club bar. Three more points and we should be safe

Good performance although we should have killed the game in the second half. Enjoyed the match thought Lacey and Harvey were good together. The sending off was a horrible challenge two feet off the ground straightening his legs, cowardly. Good win all in all.

Re: Gainsborough v Barrow Match Thread
Edmo getting plenty off his chest to the liner almost got himself sent to the stand by the ref who had a word with him and telling him to calm down as they were winning 1-0 to which Meeks had to remind him the score was 2-0.
Jase looked sharp when he came on and Ellison did well holding off players etc, considering what little game time he has had.
Pilks got booked for what looked like holding the front of his shirt up after he scored to reveal some sort of message but it was harsh as it was just a fleeting thing and he didn't actually remove his shirt. Could have been an R.I.P message as he played the celebrations down.
It was a fine team effort and much improved on last week's performance.
Get on the coach for our last away game before Christmas. It will be rocking with all the Christmas songs apparently---well according to barrow fan chris.

Would have made the lads Christmas night out last night a lot better, always more enjoyable to go on the lash after a win!
