The last month has been massively disappointing regarding on the pitch results & a lot of the problems have been pretty obvious to most of us & have just been biding their time to come & bite us on the arse! Now they have we have to hope the managers have realised where they've gone wrong & where they need to strengthen (if indeed they can)
Team selections have been confusing to most of us for a while now - none more so than Saturday (FA Cup aside) Some substitutions have been equally odd. Several players retained from last season have had many of us wondering what Edmo see's in them. Loaning out players & bringing in kids is another strange decision.
We have a small gap now before our next game & hopefully Edmo can work out what's gone wrong....hopefully the players will also. Each bad result should've been a kick up the arse for all of them, from managers to players but it is plain to see it hasn't. The downfalls of the last month have been done to death now, with a bit of luck they can use this spell off to reflect on each bad display, sort it & try & kick start the second half of the season.
Bad results aside, we're still in second position, still loads of points to play for & still plenty of time to rectify what's gone wrong.......hopefully starting a week Tuesday.
Time to look forward.

Time to look forward.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.
Re: Time to look forward.
Be interesting to know how many players now deemed by fans to be surplus to requirements or not good enough were in fact signed up before Mr Casson's bid came back to the table, if so then it is probable the 'old' Boards playing budget was considerably lower than what it turned out to be and didn't leave management much if any manoeuvrability. After the disruption and flirtation with possible relegation I would think a season of consolidation was on their minds and they put their faith in the bulk of the team that got us out of a hole and briefly to the edge of the playoffs
Players on contracts can't just be got rid of, that's why they have a contract hence we now have a ' bloated ' squad that the probably the management would like to move on but will find it very difficult to do so ( would any of us take a probable cut in wage to move on ?)
Loaning players out nearly always to clubs lower down the pyramid means not much in recuperation of actual wage and often late payment
of outstanding wage ( been there before haven't we!)
I would think at some stage players will have to go before new ones come in. The last 3 weeks before Christmas are never a good time to find or get rid of players. Clubs hang on to players for the Christmas fixtures. Clubs above us with ( supposed ) better players wait for and are bound by the transfer window
So at the moment re- freshing the squad will take a lot of juggling
Just a few thoughts

Which match are you referring to? - the last time we played on a Saturday was against Boston.spirit of 1990 wrote: Team selections have been confusing to most of us for a while now - none more so than Saturday
Darcy3 makes a good point about the squad, players on contract, etc. In view of that you could say we're doing well to be in the the play-off places. I'm sure things will improve (even more) but I think some people are expecting too much too soon, just because a bit of money's been splashed about. As you say, there's still plenty to play for.
