Re: Architects chosen for stadium
Now there's a surprise!
Why don't we ditch our (official) website and save money and leave it to the evening mail

In today's Eve Mail to sell more papers, so the Mail must have known about it yesterday if not before.mrsenario wrote:Full story in today's evening mail

Re: Architects chosen for stadium
Rant over anyone got any information on who they are? cheers!
Re: Architects chosen for stadium
No harm in it being published in the NWEM as it reaches a far wider audience than the official website! But it still should be on the official website

Re: Architects chosen for stadium
Is there a picture of the initial plans for the ground from this particular architect or has it not for that far yet?

AFL Architects a Manchester based firm.
Their sporting clients include Chelsea (Stamford Bridge, West Stand), Warwickshire CC (Edgbaston) and Leicester Tigers (Welford Road).
They beat off competition from 3 other companies.
No pictures with report.
Very impressive list of sports venue projects (including some of the worlds top sporting venues) on their website.

They designed Salford City stadium if you want to see what their 11k stadium looks like.

I like the salford stadium! Very smart! If HS looked like that i'd be happy. You can't please everyone though and i dare say there's a few on the forum who'd hate it.

Re: Architects chosen for stadium
very nice stadium, however a 12,000 capacity ground is far too big for us. Just look at Darlo
Think 6,000 will do for us, But that depends on how ambitions Mr Casson is.
Think you build a stadium with further expansion/development in mind.

6000 but designed with the prospect for a little expansion in mind would probably do us nicely

I hope these architects have understood the vision for a "traditional ground" - ie Stands as close as possible to the pitch and right on top of the action.
Do not want to see big open corners and clinical separation between stands and the pitch.

Architects take their brief from the client, so I imagine PC will make his vision clear.Jonty wrote:I hope these architects have understood the vision for a "traditional ground" - ie Stands as close as possible to the pitch and right on top of the action.
