There are a few others I would have released before him and there are a few of them in the first team at present

Re: Crowther gone
Agree with Kieran ,he was never given a proper chance.

I think Edmondson has it right on this one. Crowther never impressed me in the times I saw him, poor passer, slow, looked almost clumsy at times - a taller version of James Owen someone said early in the season.... You could say he never got much of a run in the team but I think from the games he did play it was evident he wasn't up to it for us. As Edmondson says it just didn't work out for him here. Good luck to him though, I don't think he could be faulted for effort.
I'd hope though that his departure means another midfielder is on Edmondsons radar....

Re: Crowther gone
There's a reason he wasn't given more of a go in the side - that reason being he was crap. Had big worries the first time I saw him and he was getting given the run around by Holker players.

Re: Crowther gone
I have to agree Kieran. Unfortunately injury prevented his chances early on and then he was out on loan for a while. At Guiseley he was arguably our best player until he stupidly got sent off for kicking the ball away. For whatever reason it just doesn't seem to have worked out for him and I do wonder why that is.Kieran wrote:Personally I'm disappointed by this, don't think he really got a fair chance but when he did play he was certainly better than Lacey. Only a few weeks ago he started ahead of others in a massive game at Guiseley, that seems a bizarre decision now in light of this. I know he got sent off with 10 mins to go in that game but overall I thought he did well, hasn't had a look in since then though.
Good luck in the future James
Re: Crowther gone
May not of been given enough time to show us that he was indeed a decent player. But what I did see of him he always flattered to deceive! I'm sure he will go on and achieve greater things now he has left us, like many do! Will be happy if we get a pit bull of a midfielder in to replace him though to compliment what we already have.

A rethink of communication policy is certainly needed.Richard Ingham wrote:As above KH, if the people involved tell the rag before they tell the people involved in running the website/twitter feed then how is it supposed to get to on the clubs twitter?KHayman wrote:Good stuff.
Hopefully get rid of some other deadwood.
How hard is it for the club to tweet it ? You can do it from anywhere on your phone. Tinpot
Serious rethink of the communication policy required.
The club should be reporting first, not the mail. so like you say edmo should wait before telling steve Shaw.
I know people who do the Twitter and update website are probably employed in other jobs, but if the club wants to advance this needs to change in my opinion.
Was reading the interview with the fylde media man.
He has himself plus 4 media students helping him. That's 5 people, meaning every fylde has there own media person.
Re: Crowther gone
When we sign players contracts have to be signed/faxed. So somebody at the club knows at the same time as Edmo. Could that person presumably Russ Dodd not send a tweet off his phone in the Barrow twitter account to at least tweet the signing/departure? Or even his lad who will be more tech Savy ?
We are meant to be virtually a professional club now or at least moving towards one. It's only one issue of several that have been highlighted recently that all adds up to us being miles off. Come on Barrow, time to give ourselves a kick up the arse on and off the pitch.

Re: Crowther gone
Just wondering what the obsession with having the story on the website is? I've followed Newcastle all my life, but never once been on their official site to check the latest news. I agree it should all be reported, but who cares if it goes up a little bit later on? It's not as if the club (or any football club) is selling advertising based on the amount of hits they get on their website.

Re: Crowther gone
Mentioned this in the Colwyn Bay match thread. Interesting part to me is the comment 'He has shown a keen interest and desire to return to the club ALL season'. From that would ascertain he has been angling to return to Wales hardly before the ink was dry on his contract.Go a long way to explain why he has been down the pecking order if Edmo knew this.blue nige wrote:http://nonleague.pitchero.com/news/bay- ... ion-36607/ !!!

Does any other club have a local rag of the calibre of the evening mail?Richard Ingham wrote:No other club lets its fans find EVERYTHING out from the local rag.
