O2 and the coverage is pretty damned poor. I have regularly gone full matches with no data working. The Popular side could tag onto the pressbox wireless if they wanted to share. Eh? Eh?

Hoss, the pressbox doesn't have wireless, it has a hard wired connection.

The issue we have is the connection we have is business broadband but isn't suitable for public WiFi use due to bandwidth. Commercial WiFi in large stadia uses multiple phone lines to enable much higher speeds.

It would be a lot of money, for a short term thing.

Yes, I know the logo is 'minging' Steve  , I took it from the website so it's just a PNG file. If anyone has a vector diagram or *.eps file for Adobe Illustrator, I can make a better effort using GIMP! I wanted to get something out around the hospital and to be honest it doesn't look anywhere near as bad when printed on A4 using a normal home inkjet printer!

Poor old Russell Dodd, doesn't half get some grief from you lads! I promise to not sound as biased and continually slag referees who never make a correct decision! :D It's pretty hard when at heart we all want Barrow to win. Then again, our match summariser Andy Carlisle is not a massive fan of refereeing at this level as well!

A cheeky bump for this topic as we approach a big weekend for Radio Lonsdale and the re-establishment of our long association with the Bluebirds. The Barrow v Solihull Moors game will be the first official full live commentary by Radio Lonsdale for 20 years.

We have been given permission by the club to hold a bucket collection prior to the kick off and at half time. Any donations will be gratefully received and will help to improve our service to our patients, staff and visitors at Furness General Hospital. Much of our studio technology is 'old hat' and we have a program of improvements starting with the planned refurbishment of our main studio during 2015.

We'll also be handing out publicity leaflets at the game, so if you've ever fancied commentating or being a football pundit, we'll be very happy to hear from you!

Radio Lonsdale will broadcast their first official full live match commentary in 20 years, as they cover the Barrow AFC v Solihull Moors game this weekend. The registered charity, which broadcasts free radio services to Furness General Hospital, has been granted permission to hold a bucket collection prior to the kick off and during half time. Any donations received will be spent on equipment upgrades as the station attempts to modernise and improve the service to their patients, staff and visitors. Please note that all of the charity's volunteers will carry identification cards.

Radio Lonsdale will also hand out publicity leaflets in an attempt to further increase membership, so if you have ever fancied commentating, being a football pundit or radio presenter, this is your ideal opportunity. Many television and radio personalities started their careers on hospital radio, including Philip Schofield and The Bay's Darren Milby.

Radio Lonsdale will now broadcast every Barrow AFC home game, including Cup matches and friendlies, live to Furness General Hospital.

Well it's the BIG day! After 20 years Radio Lonsdale will officially broadcast full match commentary from Holker Street today! The gear's all tested (and tested and tested just to be safe) and we even have a back up should the internet connection fail.

We're warming up for the game by interviewing those folks who help the club to run, starting with Peter Garbacz at 2.30pm.

Thanks to Barrow AFC for the superb support given to the charity which has enabled us to get this far so soon and to Steve Shaw for the great article in last night's Evening Mail sports pages.

We'll be collecting for our charity prior to the game and at half time and all donations are gratefully received.

Let's hope that the boys will oblige with a good performance and hopefully, a good home win this afternoon! :scarf:

Right, I'm off to get my thermals and my 'Motty' coat on ready for the match!!!

Thanks for all the support that we were given at the game today! We got some great interviews with Pete Garbacz, Darren Edmondson and Dave Chubb (ex Radio Lonsdale, now programme seller and club photographer). Over the last few home games we'd like to interview more of those who make the club tick and it would be nice to get in touch with the 'Sunday Maintenance Gang' who have made the press box so good.

We had a number of technical problems today, bloody typical after it all worked so well last game! However, they're all minor and will be resolved before the next home game. Nice touch by RC's Andy Woods who came over and wished us all the best this afternoon! On leaving the studios at FGH this morning I was stopped by three different people who had seen last night's Mail and they too passed on their best wishes - that's why we love living in this area folks!

Like I say, a few small problems and like Paddy Lacey (it seems), it was ALL my fault!! :D

Pity the lads couldn't give us the result that we'd have hoped for on our first live commentary in 20 years, but on behalf of all the crew at Radio Lonsdale - It's Great to be Back!

A massive thank you to everyone around the ground who donated to our bucket collection. We understand that it can be an expensive afternoon taking the family to the football, so we appreciate every penny given to the charity - we will spend it wisely!

Keep the faith - we're not out of it yet and Fylde are on a bad run!

Radio Lonsdale will be making the massive trip to Lowestoft this weekend to provide our regular listeners with coverage of the Lowestoft v Barrow AFC game! Barrow AFC Director and Interim Chair of the Bluebirds Trust, Pete Garbacz, has kindly agreed to step in as our match summariser this week so we'll record the game and sell off copies to the largest bidder if Pete steps out of line!

It's been a great season and the club has been so generous to Radio Lonsdale in our first year back. We couldn't let this last (hopefully) game go by without broadcasting to our patients, staff and visitors one more time. Come on you Bluebirds!!
