Explain this one - Performance Centre?
Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
I could hazard a guess at it being someone else who wasn't in a usual role later on in the week with the club but it's not really fair for us to throw names around on here
everyone is entitled to their opinion, deal with it

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
A sorry affair all around really, nothing good has come out of this.
I feel a bit sorry for whoever has lost his position at the club, perhaps a bit harsh if this was his only mistake.

We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

Sad state of affairs.
Some very bitter people out there and now there is someone who is without a job in an area that doesnt really employ many football coaches.
Horrible.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
My thoughts totally - the letter was badly worded and open to misinterpretation it shouldn't have led to someone losing there job unless there really is more to itChris Benoit wrote:So a letter generalising a host of reasons was sent out, probably naive of them to send it and word it so badly but the parents of the innocent little angels started a campaign baying for blood and got it. Well done all, someone at the club (who was highly thought of) has now lost his job because he made an error or judgement and the angry parents wouldn't rest until he was gone.
Very sad

Naive? Badly worded?I think you'll find the letter had a forged signature on it? Sent out on Barrow AFC Performance Centre, letter headed notepaper-unyet the Head of Youth, the manager & owner had no knowledge whatsoever of it?This, along with a text, the guilty party sent out to several players on the 20th February stating" they wouldn't be selected for any further games as he was using under 16s players",without the knowledge, once again, off Mssrs Casson,Edmondson & Meechan? If you're going to make comments sympathising with the guilty party, please realise, there are people who know the full story?Bingo wrote:My thoughts totally - the letter was badly worded and open to misinterpretation it shouldn't have led to someone losing there job unless there really is more to itChris Benoit wrote:So a letter generalising a host of reasons was sent out, probably naive of them to send it and word it so badly but the parents of the innocent little angels started a campaign baying for blood and got it. Well it's all been sorted out now.
Might as well lock this thread.

Poor do all round, maybe if the rose tinted blinkers were taken off, the parents of some of the players released would be able to see what their lads are actually doing on social media and nights out on the beers.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
To be honest it just seems to me like you are trying to sling any mud you (think you) can find. So what if a text got sent out to them? If they were deemed not got enough then why not try and bring some of the younger lads through? Edmo is responsible for the first team and whilst Meeks is involved with the running of the youth teams at the club he isn't the gaffer and I don't think every team selection decision should be ran by him. There's been mistakes made by both sides but I cannot have it for one moment that there was any malicious intent. There was absolutely no need to come on here shouting and balling that your family has been hard done by (let's be honest, a good chunk of that team will have done things that they wouldn't get away with at first time level but its just a difficult case of proving this). You could have easily contacted Pete via numerous channels online or by phone but you and Dino chose to publicly display your grievances towards the club and certain individuals more than likely knowing that it would cause a stir, probably make the evening mail (who seem to source all their information from this forum) and put the club in a bad light. As stated already, I do not believe there was any malicious intent in this letter (I'm not convinced a signature was forged either) and the person who has sent this out will have his reasons for doing it the way he did. That's done now and he is the one paying the price by losing his job. You and Dino (especially Dino) still wont rest saying until their names are cleared...its a non league football club not a serious organised crime. Someone has been held accountable and action has been taken against them. Maybe now it's time for you all to draw a line under it, if your family/friends/whatever they are to you are good enough and show the right attitude then they will slot themselves back into the football pyramid somewhere down the line and if they prove to be more than good enough then they will work their way back to a level they are suitable for. I doubt Grant Holt got his daddy to start bleating on via the Carlisle forum when he got released...he just dusted himself down and worked his arse off to eventually make a proper career out of it.Celtic wrote:Naive? Like I said, move on from this now, you've got your pound of flesh so if you could stop the whole angry parent thing, that would be #lovely.

As stated. - they're hardly angels but a lot of things boil down to proof. If a first teamer was spotted on the lash a Friday before a league game which he then put in a half parsed performance then supporters would be going insane. The youth lads should be thinking about things like that if they ever have any ambition to play at a decent level of football.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
I know of ,at least.3 of the "released" players that aren't even on social media?2 of those don't even drink? The other one has only just turned 18 recently & started. No rose tinted worn here. Once again, please comment on FACTS? You've not the remotest idea of just what's gone on,not just now,but throughout the season?AFC Towers Branch wrote:Poor do all round, maybe if the rose tinted blinkers were taken off, the parents of some of the players released would be able to see what their lads are actually doing on social media and nights out on the beers.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
As has already been stated and acknowledged by both sides - remarks in that letter were more of a sweeping generalisation than finger pointing at specific players who were released. If you believe that not a single one of them hasn't either a) been out on the town or b) dabbled with highs (legal or otherwise) then you are deluded. Ultimately it boils down to not being good enough, not having a good attitude or application or a combination of the aforementioned. Stop harping on about "facts" - it just stinks of bitterness now.

Re: Explain this one - Performance Centre?
The person who sent the letter had to get punted..you just cannot go about your business that way. Clearly some of the folk moaning about that have a connection to the coach now..barrow is a small town.
I feel a bit sorry for the lad mind..has he ever had to let folk go before? It doesnt say a lot for how the youth set up is organised. Younger people in positions of responsibility need to be supported to manage others.
