Bondy was always played at right back and everyone hated him.EHB wrote:He reminds me a lot of Andy bond before he was good.
Bond was very frustrating, would do something good then lose the ball. It took him time to mature and learn that the key I being a good player is doing the simple stuff well. Paddy is a similar as bond as this stage.
Good to see edmo having faith in him, but the situation is different. We had faith in bondy when were playing for mid table mediocrity not a championship.
My instinct is he will come good, but I'm not sure we have the time to be patient,
Paddy

Re: Paddy
I'm always critical of him myself , but thinking about it In a way I kind of feel sorry for him , he has limited ability but he always looks like he cares. The team don't help him at times when there's nothing easy on for him when he receives the ball so he either has to try a forward pass (which he struggles with)or do his favourite little spin and roll it back to Grand/Burns/Livesey to smash it towards Cook.
Edmo should take the most blame for this.
With a lot of us saying all this about him he will probably score the goal that gets us promoted.

Re: Paddy
football skills apart have everyone forgotten how the lad protected the fans at atherstone?
for that reason alone i think people should ease off he always gives 100% if only some of our supposed top players did that you wouldn`t be picking on the lad, what must he be thinking if he reads this (i hope he doesn`t

Re: Paddy
A thread all of his own for a run of poor form is over the top. Him playing every week when his form is so poor is also a head scratcher. Edmo said earlier in the season that he picks his teams based on what he sees in training through the week. I'm wondering if this is where he sees what Paddy is made of but he is struggling to replicate that on match day.
I like the lad, love what he did at Atherston and love the fact that his quote is at the top of the forum. Clearly loves the club and wants to do his best, unfortunately right now his best isn't up to what is needed in midfield. A spell on the bench to be used as an impact player or the man to help protect a lead when we need him might be the best thing for him right now.
If you're reading this Paddy, we all want you and the team to do well. Keep your chin up and show us what you can do.

Re: Paddy
Can't disagree. I've defended him on here when many have rubbished him, but he's let everyone down today. Again. You could argue that we didn't get beat, so no harm done, but going down to ten men for almost the entire second half definitely changed the course of the game, and Edmo's approach. I think with eleven men on the field we would have seen Haworth and/or Pilks coming on for twenty minutes, to try and nick a win. Their injection of guile and craft, and a change of tack, could have been the key to unlocking a solid but workmanlike Chorley defence. All "what ifs" of course, but Paddy will be, and should be, disappointed with himself.boyliegladbach wrote:Hot headed liability.
