I thought N.Ferriby looked very dangerous and showed tonight why they were able to beat Wrexham in Trophy final. Even at 3-1 and 4-1 down they just kept going. Some nice play got them the penalty and they took apart the Barrow defence time and time again but lacked the final ball and finish. Credit has to go to the Barrow back line that worked very hard tonight. They played their part in keeping them out and all had good games. McWilliams cutting out one of their crosses, onto the bar and out for a corner the closest they came to getting a second.

It was no easy ride, but the night was all about what happened at the other end. The NF defence were simply blown away and the attacking play was as good as we have seen all season, even if some of it was a direct/long ball over their back line. The Barrow players needed to turn in a performance tonight they did. Compared to Saturday, more urgency and determination for the full 90, fewer misplaced passes and 4 very well taken goals of which any could all be goal of the month. Could have had the same score line on Saturday but for Brackley's defensive play and Barrow's poor finishing. All came together for a good night, 3 points, top of the table.

A win on Saturday could take the title.

I know it doesnt always work but maybe if everyone bigged up saturdays game on social media and pointed out that we could infact lift the trophy on saturday and get people to share the statuses that would be good!

I presume the trophy will be making the journey from Telford to Barrow in time for saturdays game just incase fylde dont beat harrogate?

Paddy lacey is a decent player a 6-10 player. But your CM midfield is the engine of the team , need more from a CM than what Lacey does wins the odd 50-50 he just circles the centre circle ! Good for this level , but we need a player with a bit more too his game .

excellent team effort from the lads tonight.my only gripe is that cowps is no right back and was turned over everytime opposition came at him. fortunately it didn't effect overall score. do you keep him there saturday? Dont know. great team performance and 3 points.

The radio on the way home were suggesting it was 3 assists for Walker, but I thought it was Pilks who laid on Howarth's goal?
Either way, Howarth was my man of the match and was convinced from where I was that his cut inside and long range effort was nestling in the top corner. Edmo said we could have had 6/7 and he's right. (He also said Livesey was his player of the season)

Can't wait for the Tamworth game, though imagine how awkward the player of the year presentations will be if they slip up on Saturday...

People moaned about Walker too which baffled me. Yes I thought Harvey was more deserving of MOTM but Walker put in his best performance of his season IMO. Every last Barrow player put in a shift like that and two more efforts like that will see us do it.

Sometimes I think it's the Barrovian way to have a public scapegoat (even if we won 20-0).

I wouldn't go as far as saying he had a good game, he did OK for him - he won a few headers and put in a few passes to white shirts, but all too often he passes to no one, gets caught in possesion or, like last night, gets involved & reacts after already being booked. On another night he could have seen red again, & the result could have been soo much different. Got a long long way to go before he's anywhere near as good as Proctor.

Much better performance last night, pace, width, intent... It's what we've all been crying out for all season and thank god we finally showed what we were capable of last night.

ARH and Walker the two big differences for me, ARH giving the midfield what it's needed all season with strong and direct transitions from back to front, and the lad can also tackle! Walker put in one of his best performances for us since he's been back, clever link up play and pulling defenders all over with his movement, couple of really good assists too. Can't really fault any of the players, thought McWilliams, Lacey and Haworth were excellent too. No issues with Taylor whatsoever, another good display, commanded the penalty area well, which is no easy going when you've got 17 foot tall Denton in the mix at corners.

Saturday will be a totally different game mind, they're still in the mix for play-off places so will be well up for it and desperate to win. Really hope we play with the same intent and positivity as tonight and aren't tempted to go back into our shells or revert to type. Another big big performance needed from every single one of them (and from ourselves in the stand).

EDIT: Thought the referee was absolutely awful tonight, which when we won 4-1 and you're still commenting on the ref says plenty. How Danny Hone doesn't get sent off and concede 4 penalties every single game is beyond me, his one and only game plan is to head anything in the air and physically assault the player if it's below neck height. The amount of pushing, shirt pulling, obstruction etc he let them get away with was ridiculous. Thought for once Lacey's yellow card was unjust, low, controlled tackle that won the ball.

I wasn't really suggesting he is as good as Proccy, but I think he is a very similar player. Don't forget - Proccy could also be a bit of a liability, was no stranger to the ref's notebook, and took a few early showers in his time.
