we destroyed boston at holker st and had it not been for the young lad in goal we might well of seen cassons 8-0 prediction.

Having watched all the 4 teams in the play offs at home and at thiers Guiseley were the best we were very fortunate to get 6 points.

Guiseley best football team but I think Boston will go up. They'd be a better addition to the league as well.

Went to the game last night, about 150 Fylde fans in attendance, their keeper had a great game made some top saves but it was an even game, a draw would probably have been the right result. I'd expect between 1,200 and 1,500 on Saturday with about 250 from Guiseley. Game is in the balance as many of the Guiseley fans aren't confident they can hold out.

It'd be interesting to see how the CN compared with the CS in terms of footballing quality. Any of you southern exiles ever popped to an odd game?

CN better league in terms of size of clubs and fanbases.

Yes. I've been to quite a few at Havant and Gosport over the years. In fact, in my younger days, I've played at both grounds as has my son! In terms of crowds, Conference North is well ahead. Largest Average attendance is 2634 at Stockport but they are followed by Barrow on 1456, Chorley on 1191 and Boston on 1148. Conference South only has one club, Bromley, which averages about 1000 at 1081. The lowest average in Conference South is Whitehawk from Sussex which is in the play-offs but only averages 250! The other sides in the playoffs are Basingstoke on 602, Havant on 660 and Boreham Wood on 327. A couple of much bigger clubs in the CN playoffs as Chorley average 1191, Boston 1148, Guisley 584 and Fylde 542. As regards football quality, I'd say that CS is a better level this season than CN from what I've seen which, admittedly. isn't a huge amount. It's interesting that the 21 teams in CS are all truly Southern teams whilst the 22 in CN are made up of what I would call only 13 truly Northern teams together with 4 Midlands teams and 5 Southern teams which would indicate more Northern teams are struggling at this level. However, looking at the Conference itself there are 11 Southern teams, 10 Northern teams and 3 Midlands teams so it seems that the very best from the North can hold their own.

It's interesting that the 21 teams in CS are all truly Southern teams whilst the 22 in CN are made up of what I would call only 13 truly Northern teams together with 4 Midlands teams and 5 Southern teams which would indicate more Northern teams are struggling at this level. However, looking at the Conference itself there are 11 Southern teams, 10 Northern teams and 3 Midlands teams so it seems that the very best from the North can hold their own.

The reason there are quite a few Midlands/Southern clubs in the league is due to the way the leagues are split and the proliferation of teams darn sarf. Promoted into Conf North are 2 from the Evo-Stik (Northern teams) and 1 from the Southern Premier League (this year Corby will go into Conf North).
However with 3 Northen sides relegated from the Conf Prem into Conf North and only 1 into Conf South then Lowestoft or Oxford City will be moved from Conf North to Conf South to balance the numbers.
