Congratulations to Chorley, now at home to Guiseley, wouldn't like to call that one!

I thought the final would be Boston v Guiseley so I was half right. I think I would like to see Chorley go up after getting this far, and they could well be the favourites for it as well. They have met 3 times this season with both winning their respective home games 2-1 at Guiseley and 1-0 at Chorley. Chorley also won 2-0 at Guiseley in the FA Trophy.

The AFC Fylde preview on their site stated that Guiseley only just got into the play-offs by 1 point ahead of Oxford and Tamworth. In reality they were safe and in the play-offs with 2 games to go and rotated players out in preparation for the play-off games, while Fylde were still chasing the title. I reckon that will have played a big part in their victory over the two games. Now Guiseley have another week to prepare for the final.

Chorley have that same week so I don't think Guiseley will have any edge over Chorley come next Saturday. Although I think Guiseley are the better team, I think having come this far it could well be Chorley's final in front of their home fans.

Blow the title, lose to Guiseley in the play-off's and just to top it all off nicely, their local rivals Chorley get through! Kirkham will be a fun place tonight

I think this is Guiseley's fourth time in the playoffs and third time in the final.

Fylde finished 15 points and +31 GD on Guiseley (that's gotta hurt) and I thought they'd overturn that 1-0 from the first leg. Credit to Guiseley- think they've got a decent team there and they have been here before. They won't want to miss out again. Going to be a really tough match but having seen both teams home and away- Think Guiseley are the better footballing team but that doesn't always win the prize. Chorley for me so my mate big Leylandbluebird can enjoy the party and have his first love (us of course) and his Chorley mistress in the national. Just to stress him out!

Shhh! You'll make it worse, don't think some of them even know Chorley are through.

5th attempt at play-offs in a row, and like you said 3rd in final. They have gone out to some late goals as well.

2014/15 finished 5th reached final against Chorley.
2013/14 finished 5th reached final, lost to Altrincham 2-1, winning goal on 120+1 mins.
2012/13 finished 2nd, reached semi-final lost to Halifax 3-1 agg.
2011/12 finished 2nd, reached semi-final lost to Nuneaton 2-1 AET agg., winning goal on 117mins.
2010/11 finished 5th, reached final lost to AFC Telford 3-2, winning goal 90+2mins.

It's the same in all the leagues but is it right a team that pushed Barrow for the league were miles ahead of the chasing pack but don't get automatic promotion doesn't seem right to me , good luck AFC Flyde for next season.

It's about as right as a team that just edged into the play-off places on the last day of the season winning promotion.

Don't remember too many complaints on this forum when be beat Telford and Stalybridge, though.

Salthouse I agree we finished 2nd one year and was miles ahead of the chasing pack and got beat in the play offs I know how Fylde are feeling tonight.

Not arsed about Fylde all the teams know the score before the season starts regarding play offs.

After the celebrations on new years day Fylde can get to [SwearFilter] a nasty club.

Yes good luck to Guiseley as well nothing against you guys going up with Barrow it's the way
the FA have structured the leagues to generate more interest i suppose and more money,true last time
Barrow were promoted was through the play-off's no complaints here but you need a financial backer to stay
in the conference national and become full time it's a hard league to stay up in

No, it's not right but it's just one of many things in modern day football that isn't right because most of these decisions are made purely for financial reasons. Last season both the lowest teams in the North and South divisions won the play-offs and it Guisley and Whitehawk win the finals it would be the same again. Everybody in football knows the play-offs in all leagues are unfair but they generate money which is now the major concern. Football is no longer a sport but a business as are all other mainstream sports.
