Further than half an hour Tidds !!!!!!!!!!!!!John Very Little wrote:How much are you talking about for a season pass and how much cheaper would the bus fare be compared to if you didn't buy one?
Its not only results that determine whether people would travel, its how many of the longer distance games would get moved to midweek that would affect the number travelling and whether the buses could actually run to those games.
On the subject of facilities I think a bus with a toilet would be essential on trips further than about 3 hours.

Re: Travel next season
Why are we "having" to change coach company's Kieron. Is it just down to travelling distance and Clarkson having no toilets.Kieran wrote:Definitely just to get people to games and back where travel is concerned Al.boyliegladbach wrote:
Just wondering Is the main aim of trust travel to get people to games and break even,or make profit ?.
The reason the question is being asked is that costs are going to increase significantly next season, not just because of the extra travelling but because of us having to change coach companies. So its going to be a bit more challenging than previous seasons hence the need to think bit more carefully about how we spread the cost in order to maximise our chances of running to as many fixtures as possible.
The option to pay on a game by game basis will still be there for those that prefer.
Re: Travel next season
Simple answer Graham is that Clarksons don't want to or can't take us, not because there has been any fall out or anything though and we're still on good terms. I just think that they've decided they don't have the capacity to take on that work with the increased travelling involved and they just want to concentrate on their more local work.

Hence the conversation on here GT, needing to canvass opinion etc so we get organised and then try and get everyone, old and hopefully new as well, to the aways.

Cheers Kieran. Just think...............no more breaking down here there and everywhere, no turning round to get another coach, no blown tyres on the motorway. It just won't be the same will it.Kieran wrote:Simple answer Graham is that Clarksons don't want to or can't take us, not because there has been any fall out or anything though and we're still on good terms. Re: Travel next season
For the long trips it's essential to have all the facilities on the bus as possible, for £45.00. Per month it has to be something special, for 23 games though it's good value but only if you can attend most games, will have to seriously consider it bearing in mind increased turnstile, food and beer costs.

Re: Travel next season
I'm assuming if I bought one it would be one seat for the month..as it were- or had 23 journeys we could use? Sometimes last year I went, sometimes my son, sometimes together. If there was a bit of flexibility that way I would buy one.

Re: Travel next season
Don't shoot me down here, I'm just offering a suggestion as an exile who doesn't travel from Barrow. Could you offer a carnet style of ticketing with books of 5 or 10 trips? People could then use those as and when they are available without having to commit to a season ticket. I realise this will require more administration so may not be practical. Just a thought.

Actually Esso Blue that is a decent shout. Certainly something to consider

Re: Travel next season
Obviously not everyone manages to get to all the away games and possibly even less this coming season due to the distance of some trips, particularly mid-week. However if the option was open to all those who were interested and then others just pay as they go, then for those who go take it up, at £45 a month over 9 months works out at only just over £17.50 a trip for 23 matches. Considering the distance to a lot of our games this is an absolute steal.

Re: Travel next season
I will probably miss about six away games,so if some deal was offered in respect of this I would definitely take it up.
Re: Travel next season
It still only works out at £23.80 a trip if you do 17 away games NickGraythwaite Nick wrote:I will probably miss about six away games,so if some deal was offered in respect of this I would definitely take it up.

The vouchering for want of a better term would work. I did about 11 on the bus i reckon and alex 10. Would be happy to pay monthly for those.

Re: Travel next season
I'll await the fixture list to see which ones I'd go to and which ones I can't
Living in Manchester and working in Crewe I'd probably prefer pay as you go - I can't do midweek and for some games it's cheaper and easier to go from home
I'd hate to miss out tho altogether - if I lived in barrow £45 ( if that's what it turns out to be ) is a bargain - in terms of facilities I'm thinking a bar / a spa and maybe a hot tube on the roof
