Re: Travel next season
Right, worked this out and its looking like an annual pass for all away league games would be £43 a month for members and £47 for non members over 10 months. This would be transferable on the basis that whomever you loan it to is a member if you have a members one.
We'd look to work something out for cup games but potentially these would just be stand alone as cup games are now with season tickets.
This would represent a saving over the on the day prices, so even if you missed 3 or 4 games you'd still be in the black

Re: Travel next season
That would need serious thought Steve to be honest....need to look at the costings.
Obviously this is all TBC after the next trust board meeting.

Re: Travel next season
So if say we are doing shit at the end of season and only ten people wanted to go,but they've all paid there monthly subscription , would the bus run or a refund be given.
It is something I could possibly see my self doing but would need to know a bit more.
I'm still edging towards pay as you go at moment.

Re: Travel next season
There's no guarentee that every bus would run, as if we ended up with Welling on a Tuesday night with only 8-10 people interested for a bus that costs over 1K it wouldn't be worth running it.Gazza wrote:Obviously not everyone manages to get to all the away games and possibly even less this coming season due to the distance of some trips, particularly mid-week. However if the option was open to all those who were interested and then others just pay as they go, then for those who go take it up, at £45 a month over 9 months works out at only just over £17.50 a trip for 23 matches. Considering the distance to a lot of our games this is an absolute steal.
The last time with the ISC it wasn't possible to run a bus to every game in the Conf Prem and I suspect the same will be true next season, particularly with the long trips if there's nothing to play for at the end of the season. This season the bus cost will also be more than last time due to the change of operators as mentioned earlier.
Last time it was £30-35 for the long trips, I'd guess that it would be more expensive than that next season?

Exactly who do we intend to run the buses, if it's reays and the bus is similar to the players bus I would definitely sign up.

Re: Travel next season
Just a thought. Why don't we as a trust buy a bus,I've been doing some research and they are very affordable . There's a company in Cheshire who deal, for example they have a 53 seater Volvo with 12 months mot on it for only £5,500 .We pay a local company to maintain,we join the national coaches breakdown and recovery,we hire a freelance driver and pay him well,we get several local companies to sponsor us with their details emblazoned on the bus. By my reckoning it would pay for itself twice over and we wouldn't have to charge more than £25 for any distance trip. Any thoughts.

I'd dread to think what we would get for £5,500.

Re: Travel next season
I was just giving an example of what's out there, the pics on the site don't look bad. There are others £12000, and would do us several seasons I reckon.Just thought it was worth considering when you look what these coach firms are charging,£1000 a bus.Van Der Nipper wrote:I'd dread to think what we would get for £5,500.
And no bingo there's no outside loos, just a hole in every seat and you bring your own bucket.

If it's a double decker, I wouldn't recommend sitting downstairs!Jo am back wrote: And no bingo there's no outside loos, just a hole in every seat and you bring your own bucket.
