Rumour Thread (Pre Season) 15/16

Not too impressed with high profile striker rumours. More interested in the keeper, two backs and two midfield options.

So the only rumour I personally give much credence to is the Neil Ashton from Wrexham one. Wilmer-Anderton on loan from Preston for a year would be like a free gift (if he was fit - the injury he sustained at Leamington was a bad one) and would bring youth to an aging back line. Easily good enough. But I wonder whether that rumour is just wishful thinking.

I think the signings will generally be experienced pros who've already plied their trade at L2 or Conf National level. So the names when they appear might not immediately excite. Doesn't mean they wont be decent though.

Very few rumours on the keeper so far - who I personally think will be a name familiar to most BAFC fans.

In a way similar to Aaran Taylor last term. Not original first choice but finished up there through circumstances. A bit 'marmite' amongst the fans and many not sorry to see him leave.Gary Mills has brought a new man in (Cameron Belford from Tamworth) so Coughlin feeling he'll be back to no.2 naturally wants out. Personally I would prefer someone with a bit more experience (Fon Williams or Russell) but we'll have to wait and see.
