In Pete's defence, I think he looked at the travel for next season in more detail as Stu said he was no longer to do the running of the coaches. If that's wrong I apologise, and if Stu has changed his mind fair enough, but I think everyone needs to stop and realise that all the trust/ISC or anyone else for that matter want to do is run coaches to matches so fans can watch the team.

So what company are we using. I'm still not certain after last night?

Just to answer a few observations on my post, we were told the work on travel and costs were based on work done by Peter, also quotes on the costs were done by email, not the right way to do things, regards what would members gain by going back to the I.S.C. Is simple money's would go directly to that organisation and eventually any profits would be used for that club such as the £4000.00 we had prior to handing it over to the trust, with regards to issues with the club this was stated by a trust member at the meeting.

I like the way you can all sit in the same meeting and come to different conclusions.

Love selective hearing, Love Barrow.

What is the right way to do it then? Maybe we should've got someone to personally visit all the coach companies in Cumbria and North Lancashire and obtain quotes that way. Would that have sufficed? I suspect not.

Very selfish of people (in this case Pete) who work full-time, help run the trust, is a director AND has a family to not take the time to visit all of these companies

No idea what some people want!
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

The main thing about the travel is the price, obviously the cheaper the buses are the better. Going to a lot of away games myself last season I believe Clarksons did a decent job however, the toilets are a massive issue. I wasn't very impressed with Reays for the last game for the overall price, as like it was said before it was Clarksons with a toilet. The pay monthly thing would be a good idea however the price may have to be flexible depending on what away games there are that month.

Hoping to be using Trust travel a lot more next season with daughter for some great aways. Hopefully seasoned traveller's and new travellers(self included) will support and keep it as cost effective as possible for all. If it helps with planning- an advance booking opening 2-3 games in advance and using other trust connections to identify good stop off's pre match. Just waiting for the fixtures now.

I can' t believe there is 7 pages about travel to away games next season. Put it this way, since 2008 until last season it was almost, not entirely the same people who turned up at Ramsden Square at all hours of the morning, some from Millom getting up at probabably 4 am, getting home at 2 or 3 am. They never moaned or whinged. And they were not exactly teenagers. I have met some really good people over those years and had some "eventfull" trips. It's quite simple, if you want to go away, put your name down !!!!!!!

Just arrived home after a day out and after reading some of the previous posts I am a little bewildered and confused as to what meeting I was in attendance of last evening!

Firstly, Stu never mentioned he was about to relinquish his role as General in Chief of the Trust Travel branch of the Bluebirds Trust and I hope this is not the case as he has done an amazing job with his group of trusted volunteers over the last few years!

Secondly, I think maybe Peter and those in attendance last night would have benefited by him being in attendance at last evenings meeting. (Truly understand you can’t be everywhere Peter but it was you that called the meeting in the first place)

Thirdly, I Think everyone was of the same opinion and correct me if I am wrong and that is it should be a Trust Travel aim of providing a bus to every away game and if that means running a bus at loss it would still run if a certain amount of bookings was achieved. As any loss would be offset by gains on other away trips that are oversubscribed. (A sort of swings and roundabouts scenario) This to my understanding has been the ethos of the former (ISC) from the very outset. And one that as far as I am aware has seen them operate season upon season with profit come the end of season at all times!

Personally I think the separate travel membership should be seriously looked at as it offers a financial buffer to get the Travel Branch of the Trust up and running as I feel that the travel should come under the umbrella of the Bluebirds Trust but have a separate pot funding it even if that means the Bluebirds Trust funding it in its infancy and recoup any donation at a later date. The (ISC) did not hesitate in transferring all its funds to fully endorse the Bluebirds Trust.

I am very optimistic that the Bluebirds Trust committee will get fully behind Trust Travel. I personally can see no issues, as surely as supporters of football our first and primary aim is to watch Barrow AFC wherever it may be!
