Because presumably Tranmere/Chester/Wrexham and Lincoln/Grimsby are kept apart. Minimising the sum of distances under those constraints, Gateshead-Barrow is the fixture.John Very Little wrote:Agreed as Guiseley are the nearest fixture for Gateshead. Halifax don't need to play Guiseley as they aren't too far from Alty while we could've got Southport. Dunno why it was worked out like that as there are more clubs nearer to Gateshead than us. Cross-country routes at that time of the year aren't the best either.audigex wrote:The Christmas fixtures can [SwearFilter] off. Of the early games, aim for Alty or Bromley - we'll have a big turn out at Alty and we've never played Bromley so more folk are likely to make the effort. I know I amKonaldo wrote:SEPTEMBER

Agreed you have done Braintree already aswell so alty or Bromley would be a new ground to see.Lancaster Branch wrote:Of the early games, aim for Alty or Bromley - we'll have a big turn out at Alty and we've never played Bromley so more folk are likely to make the effort. Most of the better away supported clubs travel here mid-week & no bumper festive fixture will reduce our average attendance figures / Income streams as per fudging usual

Same here, have a mate who is a Tranmere fan and was hoping to fly back for that one. Still have a look but would have been better next year and on a Saturday.Matty wrote:Wish Tranmere away was a Saturday.
Chester away is a good one for me to visit Merseyside though.
After the Everton Chelsea game was not moved to the Sunday it became irrelevant but if the Southport away was on that could have maybe rushed from Goodison to Southport if one of my mates were driving and we went 100 mph

Tranmere at home is the same date as the third round of the FA Cup hopefully it might have to be postponed because we're still in it!
