Clueless?
Re: Clueless?
Wintergreen, you have just hit the nail on the head - they aren't interested because at the moment the money isn't of importance to them because they don't need it. However the problem comes when the club do actually need it, either be it through Casson having enough and buggering off, or him tightening the purse strings or whatever, but if they have [SwearFilter] too many people or companies off now when things should be brilliant, they won't be there when they are needed.
Don't get me wrong, a former member of this forum could go about things a different way, and not call people things on here, but I am liking the fact that he is annoyed about it because if everyone just carries on and let's it happen, nothing will ever change. Some people agree with him and some don't but people have to realise this is a forum and everyone is entitled to their opinion. If you don't like it, don't read it - simple.
Think this thread could be locked, a former member of this forum has made a point, made an offer to meet people at the club and time will tell if anything ever changes

Re: Clueless?
I don't think it's the short term which is of concern, rather down the line. God forbids that PC decides to leave, or pull back his investment then the club needs to become self sufficient; or at least have the means to do so. If we burn down bridges, scorn opportunities of investment then we will not survive; whether that be a fiver or £50,000 every penny does add up. A crucial element of exhausting these avenues is through communication - anyone who believes that this can be forgotten or taken for granted is failing to see the bigger picture; one email to someone missed is one to many; but the stories from people are constantly adding up. For me excuses such as 'its always been like this', or 'its PC company he can do what he wants' are not acceptable, football is unique in that PC may have the deeds to the club but he is completely reliant on me, you and everyone else - if we stop going, the club seizes to exist; that is the reality.
I think that the club need to address this immediately, and I think there is too much of a closed shop within the club, a siege mentality so to speak. Uncle Peter as fan liaison rep on the board (i hope I've got that correct) could we not get a weekly update on the website (even if it says 'nothing new to report), even bi-weekly; without being rude because that is not my angle how can you be a liaison if we are not kept up to date - i would assume this is in your remit (apologies if this is not the case).
Emails being unanswered is criminal, this needs to be addressed. Its time for young Casson to step up, i am well aware that regardless of what the club do, some will always object but this close season has been exactly the same as the Keen era; which is a huge disappointment. There are some skilled people who follow the club, if this club is to be successful we need to utilize these people.
I think a former member of this forum is correct. I think he is also right to request a meeting, showing he is not just a keyboard warrior, if i was you a former member of this forum id keep going, make sure you get heard and make sure the club have to improve.

Re: Clueless?
Rather than bang on about things on here a former member of this forum, why don't you go down to the ground one day next week.
You obviously don't work or have anything better to do all day as you fill your time between 10-00am and 3-00pm on this forum.
Austin Straker, Steve Patton and Steve Casson will be there.
If the mountain won't come to Mohammed, perhaps Mohammed should make the trip to the mountain.

Re: Clueless?
Bigmac95, I think that's a great idea and something that I will look to implement asap. possibly worth contacting the Evening Mail about carrying it too?
It's not strictly part of my remit, but it's certainly a good "belt and braces" approach to keep folk in the loop.
I know Paul has contacted a former member of this forum direct and offered to meet him to discuss his concerns. He's aware of the issues raised and he's looking into them.

Quite surprised Paul cassons hasn't invited u over to Texas for a meeting as its quite obvious that u know what's best for the club, without your undoubted knowledge the club would b [SwearFilter]The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:saltcellar wrote:Rather than bang on about things on here a former member of this forum, why don't you go down to the ground one day next week.

how we get there i don,t no.Barrows on the way
Re: Clueless?
Bit unfair that paddy. a former member of this forum has concerns, he has asked to discuss them and Paul Casson has said he will meet him. I think that is great because one it shows pc is listening and secondly a former member of this forum can get his answers and hopefully some good will come out of it. Whether anything will change we will wait and see.
