Double standards i was told the person who was banned was only banned because if the club didn`t take this action he would have received a banning order
making his ban much longer,if i am wrong then i apologize but if i`m not then please tell me what else could they do?
You're labouring under the assumption that I'm referring to one particular case (about which I know little). I'm talking about the club's and the mail's general attitude to 'disrespectful behaviour' (for the want of a generic term) where Barrow fans are concerned.

I am going to make an official complaint about posters on this forum accusing me of hiding men in my cellar. :sentoff:

If what has been said on here is true---a throw away line in passing to the bench, then those people who complained want to go and sit in a library with a good book. A ridiculous situation. We are all aware of insulting behaviour but I wouldn't think that qualifies for that category.
It must be difficult being a male nowadays to keep within the confines of political correctness. I hope the same rule never applies to women's comments about men or I will be in BIG trouble.
It was common knowledge last week as we discussed it on the bus. Just because certain people on here weren't aware doesn't mean it was hushed up. I can't recall Leitchy's ban being on the club website when it happened although I could be wrong cos I very rarely read that.

There was an article in the evening mail about Leitvhys ban tho - nothing about Edmo tho - banter is fine Elaine with amongst people who are mates calling someone's a ability info question because of their sex is fairly pathetic - ok maybe the punishment was harsh but if your the manager of a football team you keep your views to yourself

I'd respect him for saying she was a rubbish liner but not she was rubbish because she's a women that's insulting

Wasn't the ban in the paper after Leitchy's court appearance?
I stand by what I say Charlie. I call men's ability on lots of things into question so I guess I am sexist. They are useless at bearing children for a start.

What would have happened if it was a female football manager that had allegedly said that about female liner?

It would depend on her sexual orientation / religious views

Then it is called light-hearted banter, don't ya know. They can have it all ways up. It is being a caucasian male that is such a terrible sin.

What if someone in the hall took offense at this "Banter" & you were hauled over the coals & possibly sacked Or they sued you in court as these comments offended them, this is what everyone is turning into these PC bonkers crazy world.

If you're walking down the street and see a mate and you then shout 'Oi you stupid [SwearFilter]' then clearly that will not be offensive. However, if you shouted it at a random person in the street you may cause offence.
Any one over hearing your obviously banterish joke to your mate could very easily get you in trouble for your comments by being "ever so offended by hearing them" Exactly what's happened to Edmo here, See how easily your words can be turned against you.....I strongly disagree with the namby pamby clone state the worlds turning into

And I would have been mortified if one of my comments, quips or jokes ever offended anyone because I am that kind of person - but people knew what they were getting with me I was well liked and most of my quips were actually making fun of myself. I would never ever go to a womens or mans work place and question their ability solely based upon sex or anything else for that mater. If someone is a useless [SwearFilter] they are a useless [SwearFilter] no matter what.

Rules are rules people. Just don't say it even if its 'banter' society has moved on from being able to be racist, homophobic and sexist.
