Re: Edmo has 5 match touchline ban for sexist comments
The Mail will have had the story ready and waiting for a fortnight now waiting for it to be revealed by someone else. Will be interesting to see how much prominence they give it in the actual paper edition seen as they won't want to upset the club too much? It should be splashed all over the front page having seen the way they treated a fan who swore.
If the club had admitted this in the first place it wouldn't have been half as bad as it is now. Likewise if Edmo had admitted it in the first place I suspect the fine wouldn't have been as severe as it was, he's fortunate he never got a longer ban than 5 matches by the sounds of it.
The club not making any comment is wrong IMO, they should issue some sort of statement/apoloogy as it's like they're condoning Edmo's actions if they say nothing.

Embarrassing for the club and the Mail to attempt a cover up. No doubt in my mind that's what has happened. The punishment for swearing should be rescinded immediately as it was a much lesser offence (imo). Or, Edmo should be banned from the ground for six months. You can't have it both ways.

This is me attempting to understand how we arrived here, without getting too Twin Peaks (ask yer da) about it.
Hell of a financial cost for an inappropriate and very ill judged remark. And if he's adamant he hasn't done it how can he apologise, I guess this is where the non statement came from. But then at least say they are disappointed with the outcome but in general wouldn't accept any sort of this behaviour in the workplace. But the day to day releasing of statements and information from the club is poor so anything so difficult is likely to be mishandled (Exhibit A: Russell Dodd's racism address post Macclesfield in the cup)
The EM maybe, were waiting for the outcome..I suspect they aren't as nosy as we are, which the club encouraged. Even Radio Cumbria said on Twitter..'it has emerged.'How they then deal with it will be interesting.
I tend not to have too much of an issue with Steve Shaw, it is the general news reporting emanating from the editorial office about any football supporter in Barrow, compared to any sort of other transgression in the Furness area, which is the underlying issue. This merely is yet another example of these double standards.
So in short, standard from both club and EM.

True and much more believable than Mr and Mrs Diversity Committee, but Boylie, he's denied it, with support from his management team and the board. What do they say? 'We all lied and thought the lawyer would get Edmo off' therefore we haven't a clue how to proceed now'
No one's going to hold their hands up.

What's that supposed to mean? I posted this because the link to the Mail's article hadn't been posted before (stand to be corrected if it had before I sent the message). The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Keep up RALFRalph wrote:Made it on the Mail's website http://www.nwemail.co.uk/News/Barrow/Ba ... 8cfd64d-ds

He said he was stood behind the dugout when he heard it whilst in the report the dugout was in front of the main stand.boyliegladbach wrote:A barrow supporter on page 2 of this thread heard it.
