Thought someone had transported me back 12 months tonight and although I can't be doing with Woodworth when he's commentating/summarising he hit the nail right on the head tonight saying it "looked like a conference north game". Absolutely bob on Gary and if that level of performance and quality continues for the rest of the season, that is exactly where they will both be playing next August. Played 4 teams so far, one has been better than us, 2 on another level and Guiseley. Forget the number of chances we missed and look at the overall play, tactics and set up of the team. We have 3 in the middle but once the centre backs get the ball it's like they are invisible or none of them demand the ball (Bond would have done that by the way). We play with wide men but bunch together and don't move around so there is no space for anyone and when they do manage to get out wide, we have one man in the box or play the ball in the air to Cooky but offer him no support. I think most honest supporters would agree we won a pretty crap Conf North last year by the skin of our teeth, this is a massive step up make no mistake !

we need quality midfielder and another striker,missed some golden chances tonight but often got in good positions but gave the ball away far too cheaply.

we take an age to get the ball forward too many long balls to cook, good defences soon suss this out,when we play a bit of football we don`t look too bad but you can tell the team lacks confidence because nobody seems (apart from howarth)to want to go at defences and make things happen.

saying that let`s see what saturday brings you never know we might yet make that stellar signing in midfield that we desperately need over to you Paul Casson!

Paddy has now served his suspension. Is he injured? If fit he surely deserves to start over Fofana as our DM on Saturday.

Think we will be a solid unit this season at least! We didn't create a lot but another 20 mins with Cook on and we could of nicked the 3pts! Mellor put a shift in , as did Grand , Livesey was superb in air and on deck! A draw was fair result , well taken freekick by them .

We have conceded more goals than any other team; hardly 'solid'!

I thought we looked good in patches, a good spell in the second half but pretty poor overall.

Jase - probably his best game for a while but tired towards his substitution. Mo looked a different player to his performance in the first game, hope he can get that form back. Haworth was quite good in the first half but struggled with his crosses. Grimes really needs to up is game considering his league experience.

With a couple of injuries & suspensions we look a bit thin on the ground in quality. We need Pilks back quickly as attacking options look limited atm.

Couple of additions still needed on that showing but its still only four games in, we'll get a better idea after another six to ten games.....just hope we can get a few points on the board in the meantime.

I know all the excuses about gates but I expected more than that.....having said that, that style of football isn't going to get people back.

I knew the gate would be massively down tonight. I actually thought it would be less than what it was. Two heavy defeats leading into the game. Reverse those two results and we would have had a 2000+ crowd tonight.

As for the game. Frustrating.

Well I had a lovely starter. Can't think why I have never had anti pasto or whatever as a sharer before and Casa Romana in Whitehaven didn't disappoint. Great pasta dish as the main and then after a beautiful sunset a really nice pub where port and brandy were drunk. After which went somewhere and listened to early Bowie and still am now. Not a bad wee night- happy anniversary Sam and Marie x

From my son's commendable following of the game throughout courses, sunsets and brandy, sounds like two similar sides who need a bit more to do anything at all at this level. We can cope with lack of ambition on the park but ambition off it. We can probably cope with ambition on the park but less off it. We can't cope with both. Still, early days..

Did anyone else notice in the 2nd half that when Guiseley had a goal kick, all 20 out players were bunched in a tight group on the pop side of the half way line, the keeper then proceeded to place the ball on the other corner of the 6 yard box, all 20 players jogged across to the main stand. Bizarre, never ever seen that before, it was like watching 1 man and his dog

I thought we were poor,
Not quick enough in any part of the pitch, everyone of them looks slow.
Ok, we created a bit towards end of first half and should have been 2 up but more through poor guisley marking than our own skill.
Andy Haworth [SwearFilter] lazy unless the ball is at his feet, but even when it it is he just tries to score like he did against Stockport, not just tonight but in last 3 games.
Grand, he showed the reason he was dropped Saturday and that's because he's not good enough, spoke to boyes afterwards he said that push was great as he was falling over anyway.
We just resorted to playing it back and launching long balls.
Haworth right footed, Harvey left, why play them on wrong sides so all they do is try and cut inside. Get our wide men on correct side and get some decent crosses in.
In fact why was Harvey even out wide, I ilke him but he's no winger.( probably because he played there against guisley at there place last season so it seemed like a good idea)
Livesey was excellent I thought.

Dixon and meller are getting better every game, cook and walker were good, however jase should have finished the game on at least 2 occasions.

4 points from 12, not great and would have been happier with 6. Would have only been one behind Grimsby then.

Thought the fans and players were a little anxious for the most part tonight, I was myself! It was definitely a game that we couldn't afford to loose and one that Guiseley came to get a point from, they deservedly achieved that imo! But it's fine margins we did create the best chances of the game early second half through Jason Walker, they hit the post and swamped midfield. Again there was no real tempo or urgency for the most part with players choosing to check inside rather than go for the jugular. Walker and Cook worked tirelessly but the service they got overall was poor. Also thought Danny Livesey had a sound game as did George Willliams on his debut, hoping Cooks knee isn't too serious because he is so important to the team.

We are too easy to score against. Until that is addressed we are going to struggle. I'm a fan of Simon Grand, but I was really disappointed with him tonight. I expect him, as a leader and experienced professional to be much, much smarter when we are seconds away from the half-time whistle with a 1-goal lead. A brainless and needless push in the back, right under the ref's nose, a free shot on goal for Boshell who always enjoys playing us, and it's two points thrown away. Just not good enough. Fofana was well off the pace tonight, not sure what was wrong with him. I'm tired of saying it but we look a much more dangerous side when we get it down and work the ball on the deck....some encouraging approach play in flashes tonight, but too often we're predictable.

We look a poor team so far we will stay up but it wont be good football. Grand and livesey launching it long under no pressure really is frustrating.

Hopefully cook isn't out for long.
