We look a poor team so far we will stay up but it wont be good football. Grand and livesey launching it long under no pressure really is frustrating.

Not sure why Mellor is getting so much stick, I thought he was our best player tonight. Broke play up well at times and played 3 or 4 excellent long range passes, our best player tonight if you ask me.

Fofana was very poor though.

Yeah I agree too. He has good strength, can look after himself, and can pass. Improving with every game. Good signing so far.

I like cooky, but maybe with grimes and walker up front we might stop the long balls, but Edmo will probably just play that big lad from Wigan and we will hit long balls at him instead,

Back home. Was my first game tonight.
God that was Flat as a pancake!
I actually think we were stronger last year. None of the new signings have added anything yet. As most have said, midfield 2 are poor. Fofana was abysmal. Built like a heavy weight boxer played like a ballerina with lead boots on.
Mellor improved as game went on but hasn't got a pass in him.
Walker and Cook did well and our main threat is from Cookies flick ons.
Right back improved after a shaky start.
Livesey was solid tonight well done fella.
However all in all we have very little creativity and we were etter when ARH went in the middle.
I'm astounded how underprepared we look. Lack of quality signings and no depth. Couple of injuries and we are knackered again. Thought the days of emergency loans and borrowing players had gone. Maybe not. Disappointed. Attendance crap. 800 gone how many less next game...

Fofana is absolutely dreadful, how can you have a DM who won't tackle. He doesn't even graft. He is totally shocking. Thought Haworth was ok tonight, and thought Ashton and the other full back did well. We need some experience and bite in midfield!

Yes fofana was poor last night but in his defence he`s a holding midfielder it`s not his fault our management team want him to play like ya ya toure,mellor 1 decent pass then it`s 2 anyware and gets caught in possession too often!,harvey playing out wide what`s going on?
we seem to have no game plan,as often mentioned on here the service the forwards get is terrible wide men cutting inside or passing in back,no wonder we get caught offside! WHY CAN`T WE BEAT A DEFENDER AND CUT IT BACK.

The realists expected this though. No matter what Casson said over the summer the squad we had and the signings we made were never going to trouble the play-offs.
Get results at home and hopefully pick up a few "bonus" points away, survive

Thought someone had transported me back 12 months tonight and although I can't be doing with Woodworth when he's commentating/summarising he hit the nail right on the head tonight saying it "looked like a conference north game". Absolutely bob on Gary and if that level of performance and quality continues for the rest of the season, that is exactly where they will both be playing next August. Played 4 teams so far, one has been better than us, 2 on another level and Guiseley. Forget the number of chances we missed and look at the overall play, tactics and set up of the team. We have 3 in the middle but once the centre backs get the ball it's like they are invisible or none of them demand the ball (Bond would have done that by the way). We play with wide men but bunch together and don't move around so there is no space for anyone and when they do manage to get out wide, we have one man in the box or play the ball in the air to Cooky but offer him no support. I think most honest supporters would agree we won a pretty crap Conf North last year by the skin of our teeth, this is a massive step up make no mistake !

Grimes really needs to up is game considering his league experience. .

Must be hard for him watching the ball go over his head all the time. Like you say he has league experience and has probably played in teams who keep the ball on the deck and play decent football.

Maybe with Edmo sat in stand he will see the same things as supporters regarding the poor quality on offer on pitch.
Terrific playing surface pity we don't use it!!
Why is every team we play against quicker than us? we are now full time but still lacking quality from set pieces etc do we not practice anything at Lancaster.
Sorry to say but what is on offer at present is not going to bring spectators in.
All teams need time to gel when new players added but our team selections don't allow this to happen .
Get feeling our management team are out of their depth in this league..........

We were perhaps spoilt with Shezza in there, but we've never found a ball playing midfielder since he left. We have been crying out for one for two years and still nothing.
Need a busy player will demand and want the ball under pressure and can pass a bit... I dont believe that Scholes bloke is doing much at the minute.....

Its being realistic. For some mad reason our owners and fans all banged on about us getting in the play offs and reality is were in a relegation battle. Unfortunately the Barrow public wont accept that and simply wont turn up as 'Barrow are shit'. Hard to think of any other examples where clubs have come out pre season and said they will win this and win that.

Maybe were trying to match up the playing side of things with the commercial side.
