See this is the problem at the moment. Complete assumption that we will stay up in this league (and 4 season aswell!)

This is a tough league, long balls won't work as often as they did in conf north.
We will stay up, easy! and get better season by season. Just sit back and enjoy the ride. :scarf:

Its being realistic. For some mad reason our owners and fans all banged on about us getting in the play offs and reality is were in a relegation battle. Unfortunately the Barrow public wont accept that and simply wont turn up as 'Barrow are [SwearFilter]'. Hard to think of any other examples where clubs have come out pre season and said they will win this and win that.

Maybe were trying to match up the playing side of things with the commercial side.
Steely, First of all let me apologize for the tone of my post to you last night, You caught me at a low point after reading several pages of dross & unrealistic posts by many different posters & weeks & weeks of similar glass half empty type threads/posts which frankly tipped me over the edge last night, So, sorry for that fella  however my point about your negativity remains, read you last 20/30 posts all debbie downer stuff...........Being "realistic" (seems to be the buzz word lately) I am not worried about our 4 points from 4 games especially considering the opposition, everyone knows how quick things can change, Example if JW's lob landed in the net & not on it we'd be in 13th place today & the world would be a much brighter place.

Any long time readers of the forum or those who know me personally know I call a spade a digging implement ;) If you or anyone else looks at the bigger picture will see we have far more positive stuff going on with our football club than negative & its growing & moving in the right direction, have they made mistakes, Yes of course they have, Do you, I, or anyone make mistakes in life, Again yes, we all do, IMO we should give them some slack as PC is brand new to running a football club & is learning both that & relearning what Barrovians are like as a long time away clouds your judgement as things move on from what you remember it being like & He bravely took on a dying rotting carcass, Yet many on here expect miricals (sp) & expect her to be challenging for the Miss World title, all within what 18 months, Bizarre in my book, FWIW I'd have exactly the same, except for 1or2 more office staff and a FT comm manager & a slightly bigger playing budget.

Edmo is learning on the job also as he has never been in this position before where he has plenty of wiggle room & has a certain level of clout having what a rich progressive chairman brings to the table as opposed to being totally skint & struggling to attract any half decent players, IMO This could be a future problem as Edmo is so used to (previous seasons before last year) worrying about not losing games instead of them worrying about us as we play to our strengths, Again IMO E Newby & B Carroll are examples of this, EN has by all accounts has been terrific in pre-season & earned a contract and on the cusp of 1st team football...but Edmo is unsure of himself & doesn't back his judgement by starting him last night or giving him say 30/35 mins regularly to bed him in slowly & chooses a Midfielder in front of him last night & now brings in another wide player who will no doubt be higher in the pecking order this term leaving EN totally underwhelmed & wondering just what he has to do to earn a spot, Same to a lesser extent with young Brad in his RB berth, Unless both were told when offered contracts your hardly getting a look in this season?

So all in all we have only played FOUR games & the sky really is not falling, COYB :scarf:

Seems to be theres a certain group of posters on here that just want rid of anyone who wants to say things how they are.

Saying fans are too negative then suggesting they don't support the team is pretty negative in itself. Theres really no need at all.

Im not concerned either Mike! Ive mentioned before im actually not worried about our start, and pleased we look like we will gather enough points to stay up, which in my opinion is what we should be aiming for, and something i would be more than pleased with.

I simply believe that all the play off talk, will eventually put the people of Barrow off when we dont get anywhere near them, as you are giving people ammo to have a go, folk will say "They pay players over a grand a week and cant even get into the play offs like they said they would, theyre shite that Barrow soccer"

I'm sure PC has come out and made that statement to feed the posivity on last season success.

It's not been great at times and we do need to improve but far too early to start the doom and gloom surely.
So you are saying Paul Cassons lied then? He said we would aim for the play offs to instill a false sense of security into the fans? I don't think Guiseleys manager or owner would have said they wouldn't be surprised if they are in and around the play offs.

He didnt have to say " we are relegation favourites" no one would say that. Something more along the lines of " its going to be tough now we are in a higher league, and we have to adjust. Survival is the main aim but hopefully we can push on up to mid table."

Some fans on here are living of False hope and their expectations are slowly starting to be shown exactly as false. Nothing wrong with positivity but when its getting confused with naivety then somethings not right. We have to be realistic
Er No, where did I even begin to say anything like that.. my statement stands as posted - no one is going to say anything other than we're going to do well or the best we can - how you can you say after 4 games that we won't achieve it...

It may take another spot of pocket digging come Xmas, and who knows what other twists and turns the season will take, just getting fed up of listening and reading folk writing the season off after 4 games...

Words like "Garbage" and "Dross" OTT. We just about deserved the 3 points overall. To say we created nothing is also OTT. If we had taken our chances (just like Dover didnt) we would have been clear winners.Failure to put those clear chances away cost us. Simple as that.We can only improve which i think we will. Onward to the next one!

Take a day off from talking total bollox will you, I have said that ONCE & apologized, Your spamming this forum with tripe & your circle of friends back you up, its what youth/social media do & that's fair enough, but youth tend to have a narrower way of looking at things due to age & inexperience while older poster through life experiences look at the broader picture & understand that to make an omelet you have to break a few eggs. You seem to want everything perfect, every little detail to be covered which is not real world life, things take time & sometimes certain area's suffer (comm side) while other area's (building the club for the longer term) take preference until you manage to then juggle it around and then give more attention to those area's that suffered initially, Leave the 3 year old whining stamping your feet child act out for a while and try a different perspective for a while.

I'd love PC to give you a role within the club so we can bombard you with frivolous inquiries like your I am taking our group booking to Fylde bollox & see you in faultless action

The good people of Barrow are not that bitter & twisted are they?

Our crowd was always going to be down on opening day, but it was down by more than everyone is happy with but you know whats it like, Go on a good run, keep up with the restructuring etc & they will slowly but surely come back out to watch a winning side especially if we creep into the play offs at the business end of the season.

To assume that we will go down after 4 games against 2 of the top dogs, 1 side that finished 8th & got extra money in from Cup runs so can compete in the transfer market & a side on a high after coming up with us & played us off the park @ Holker St for large sections of the game & have some momentum after starting this league well, is crazy IMO.

Will you explode in a forum frenzy if we don't beat Cheltenham :o

Who is in this "circle of friends"? What have we been doing on social media!?! Outrageous claims!

haha there not many people who agree with me on here like.

Im sorry Mike, I will do as you say. Steeley will stop supporting the club. All on your say so! Hope this satisfies you

Who has assumed we are going to go down?! What are you on about?!

Ive clearly stated that survival should be our aim . Never once have I said I beleive we will be relegated on the back of 4 games!

Making things up now mike. Take a deep breath. Youll be turning into the Hulk in a minute.

For what its worth I think the forum itself will explode into a frenzy should we concede 4 again!
