Jonty is completely right. Our start was slack and lethargic and enabled the visitors to settle. Why? Pre-match, Darren Edmondson said we needed to "be in their faces". Instead, collectively, and with Lacey (recently impressive) off the pace, there was no midfield snap.

The second half display of purpose and intensity was good to see, with Anthony Wilson making a powerful impact, but where was this attitude in the first half? 45 minutes wasted in a similar fashion to that dreadful FA Cup defeat against Runcorn almost a year ago.

If we played Cowps and Lacey centre mid in conf north 12 months ago it wouldn't have been good enough.
So it's definitely not good enough this league.

that first 45 minutes was dire the team had no shape and it looked as if the players had just met and were playing together for the first time,the only plus was wilson he looked the part when he came on and once he`s fit he`ll walk into this team!

symington just did what he had to do,but the few times he got forward he should have taken the defender on but just like all the others this never happens.

surely the next game must warrant changes as for mellor i gave him man of the match against eastleigh and now he`s not even on the bench!

we must bring some energy into the team because people will not come when the weather gets worse and pay good money to watch half hearted "pre-madonnas"

For those clowns that were booing the substitution of Walker for Wilson it actually sounded like they were booing Walker for having a bad game - is that what they wanted it to sound like because at the Holker end that was what it did sound like!!! It seemed as though Walker put his head down when he was leaving the pitch as though the booing could have been aimed at him.
Regarding the substitution I could see why Wilson was brought on for Walker because he is bigger and more physical to deal with their defenders and did win the pen for us. I agree there were others on the pitch that were terrible and should have been taken off before then but booing an unrelated substitution sends the wrong messages.

The main issue for us today was the midfield which was atrocious. We have no idea about going forward to the point we don't seem to know what to do when we have the ball? The centre-mid pairing of Lacey & Cowps didn't work because neither of them are ball players and we looked more decisive when ARH came on to provide a better balance and make the telling passes. Haworth & VDB were awful (again) and I really don't know why Newby isn't even given a proper chance instead of them?
Symington was better than usual at full back but that isn't saying a lot is it and was one of those at fault for their breakaway goal - he certainly wasn't MOTM (Mike Wilson stop winding people up). I agree with Ashton being given the MOTM award.

I find it bizarre that Edmos star signings Grimes, Fofana and Mellor are not in the starting 11.

As a main stand-er, The boos were aimed at Edmo along with a lot of "Rubbish Edmo" etc. Jason got a rousing reception from us when he came off.

Yes we understand they were. (which in my opinion is wrong) . But it's the effect on player going off and on I've a problem with.
How do they know what the cretins booing are booing at.

That was dross. Symington is not a good player. Van der whatsit is not a good player (I won't bother remembering his name), Haworth is an abysmal player...but it's not their fault. They can only be as good as they are capable of being, and the fault lies with the manager for first of all signing them, and then playing them.
The penalties were poor penalties and made their keeper look a hero. It doesn't really matter that Walker wasn't on the pitch, every player should be able take better penalties than we saw today.

Their goal came in from the right-back position and our right-back wasn't even in the same half when the ball went in!

I didn't boo the walker-instead-of-Van der thingy substitution but i totally understand why others did. I just couldn't be bothered. 90% of this team has that effect on me...I can't be bothered.

If Darren was sacked now I don't think he would have a valid complaint.

haworth was useless I didn't know he was on the pitch in the 2nd half. Symington played well apart from being missing in action for the Kidderminster goal (you could say that for the 2 centre backs also).
Edmondsons tactics? Clueless!!!! Why replace a forward with a forward when you are chasing a game just like last Saturday, he should have taken off Haworth / Van Den Broek and left Walker on.

I was in the xbar end John with kdog,when walker went off we both shook our heads.the booing was not aimed at walker or wilson,clearly at edmo.the rest is history

Penalties are highly in the favour of the penalty taker. He has the advantage of deciding where to put the ball.
