I think European law comes into it somewhere, and he has to have a forty-five minute break after every minute of action!!! ;)

Interview with manager about the missing van den broek today.
Much the same as what he said about mellor, Fofana and grimes.
Possibly on bench Saturday as we get 7 subs.

See this is why we should of setup a reserve team in the summer.
Regardless of what level it was playing at it would of given us the oppertunity to give these players game time to help build match fitness without risking them in a vital first team game. Instead of freezing them out all together and having them rotting in the stand.
Would also of meant the likes of the newbys, brad carroll, danny eccles could of got matches every week to maintain there sharpness as opposed to not playing at all (or in elliots case 5mins every now and again)

They should dual registered with Wukkinton/Kendal/Lancaster - get them playing competitive football.

The only thing I worry about is if it comes to them signing a contract extension and they don't want to because of a previous contract which hasnt seen them play a lot.

Makes you wonder why Edmo signed them originally.

Maybe Edmo didn't sign them, instead it was the 'Transfer Comittee' who recommended he sign them.

So he didn't sign before signing them . Is that right?

Would you really want any player if they had not produced the goods to sign an extension? I assume those who train & play better get selected ahead of those who offer less in training/games?

How can you produce the goods when you are sat in the stands?

I know that we don't but why have a youth team if that be the case?

Get rid of players who have never been given the chance. Every players career starts somewhere. Look at Danny Lloyd. Bayles didn't sign him after a trial with us due to a simlar reason to why Newby doesnt get games at Barrow currently. He is one of Fyldes best players now because they gave him a chance to play.

Sometimes they develop into a good player following a season or two on the fringes getting a game here and there in cup games and on loan. Our very own Andy Cook is an example of this, however we seem to be happy leaving our young potential rotting in the stand, as well as some other older apparently talented players...

Am pretty sure that got suggested a few years back within the club. Not sure how it could work with us needing moet saturday to sit on the bench.

I agree with your sentiment in general but its never a black & white as you like to paint it, its just as easy to cherry pick examples of players who failed as opposed to your example DL who went onto do well.

Edmo see's them everyday while we dont plus there's all theother things like attitude, desire, lifestyles, compatibility etc to weight up, we usually dont get to hear about these things, At the end of the day we have to trust the Managers judgement, Will he get some wrong ABSOLUTLEY I don't think there's ever been a manager in the history of football who didnt promote a lemon or who let a diamond slip through his fingers.

It's the unpredictability of Football that helps to keep us all hooked.

Edmo tries to rotate when he thinks fit then gets dogs abuse for it if we dont win 12-0 :?

But I do agree with you that our bench warmers & stand rotters need more game time be it out on loan to club??

Nice problem to chat over considering it wasnt that long ago we'd ring the dole office to try & pick up anyone to play for us as we tried to find 11 men with a pulse
