Wonder what the situation will be if we start playing better football, give Newby etc a run out but lose all the games...?

Results business. He would still go.

No manager can be looking in a healthy position if they lose that many games in a row.

But results this season have been fine, its 'sexy football' people want apparently.

Results have been up and down and just about adequate.

Have we really dominated a side at home or away this year for 90 minutes and looked comfortable? Im tlaking totally outclassed the opposition. We are still yet to win two on the bounce, the teams we should be fitter than now that we are full time have run rings around us at times. Not once have we won by more than one goal.

Edmo should be given this season, we wont be relegated, and he might develop himself.

The football is poor yes, and the players give less of a [SwearFilter] than the Bayles era (always going to happen when you spend more cash), but what do people seriously expect, promotion this year?
I want to agree with that, but I don't know if I can anymore. The league position is fine for the moment, but the biggest issue for me is the football on display. Its absolute tosh and people are not going to keep turning up to watch, plus I don't think its getting anywhere near the best out of some of the players we've got. I'm also not sure the dressing room is entirely with Edmo anymore which would be a major concern.

Don't think its helpful PC coming out and saying that though, if he's going to sack him then do it otherwise stay quiet and let him try and turn it around. Saying he's got a month doesn't help anyone or anything and Edmo is basically a dead man walking now.
I might not have agreed with you about Alty, but this is bang on IMO. Unless RC have done a number on us and this is nonsense. Steeley, you've a good point on not wanting to be as tinpot as Fleetwood and Crawley though! And I also agree it's not just the team, maybe because I have attended least games for years for one reason or another, but the manner in which the club is being run unsettles me almost as much as the football on display.

Summary of the situation from the NWEM:

My only comment would be that I hope Mr Casson is not unduly influenced by this forum as I don't believe it is representative of the fan base as a whole.

If you looked at it from the outside the league position is pretty healthy as we're closer to play-off's than relegation, if the performances were better to watch (which also might eventually lead to more confident games and with that possibly more wins) I'm sure we'd be happy.

I think the worrying thing from the clubs point of view must be the poor football on show coupled with the inconsistecy which is leading to gates steadily dropping. At the moment we're not even keeping the "floaters" coming back never mind attracting new supporters.

I hope that the warning makes Edmo realise how he's setting the team up is plainly not working and not pulling people in, the trouble is it hasn't for eighteen months so has he got it in him to change it in one more month? I hope he does but.....
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

The football on show is dreadful - best if Edmo goes now it's only a matter of time - don't think it's helpful to Edmo to say such things in the public

PC knows what he's paying out and what he's getting back

No direct quotes in that article from Mr C tho all the Evening Mail believes etc

I honestly believe he will be gone by next week

With this becoming public I think his position is becoming untenable and he may resign. Shame it could and should have been handled better

A Director of football (wise old head with contacts) a midfield player/manager and a couple of good coaches who can at least get the players as fit as possible would be a great alternative.

We have an owner who has little in the way of contacts in the football world and neither has he been brought up with it. As a result he doesn't really understand either the commercial or football side of things. Both of these are failing miserably. If he truly wants progress then he needs a proper commercial manager to sort that side out (as you well know) and a proper structure in place on the football side. If he was well grounded in football and lived here then there would be no need at all for the idea of a director of football but the fact is he isn't and therefore unless he can get a really good experienced manager then my alternative is perfectly viable. We presently have a manager and assistant why is that "team" so far removed form a "team" consisting of a director of football/manager and a playing manager/assistant. It also seems the players aren't as fit as they should be and so proper coaches are also needed. If we get promoted in the next 2/3 years I'd expect this kind of set up to put in place anyway. That is essentially what we had with Bayles and shezza and the model is a good one even if those two had their "issues".

Rather than the usual childish put down why don't you put forward a reasoned view of why my views are shite

I'd bring Vaughan in to look after club affairs and appoint Graham Heathcote as director of football!

There won't be a shortage of applicants should he go

As for Casson not knowing about football or contacts he doesn't have to - he takes people on to do these things

Charlie he has taken people on for both jobs but the proof of the pudding...... the commercial side is crap and the football is similar. He needs some help from someone in the football world to guide him in all aspects. Not sure who but the club will continue to struggle without that guidance.

We are in the National League but operating like we are in the Unibond. It needs a complete change of mindset to move forward and if that means doing things differently and perhaps for some people in an unnecessary way get used to it because we need to move forward. What other club looking to progress has a commercial side like we have and an inability to even deal with phone calls or emails. Its not just on the field which needs a fundamental change. Spend a bit less on the redevelopment and spend a bit more on the infrastructure staffing wise. Money spent on a really good commercial manager and a really good football manager is worth much more than a few extra hundred thousand spent on the ground. It will bring that money back from increased match day revenue with numbers through the gate. Rubbish football and rubbish commercial side will only drive people away. Are there not managers out there who can get much more out of these players? do we not have people in Barrow who could give the commercial side a kick up the arse in terms of marketing and using IT skills?

Just as an aside Ian Holloway is still out of work? What a rollercoaster ride that would be :D :D :D :D :scarf:
