Dear Darren nice article in the Evening Mail, but why do you need another winger? You have a local you do not give an adequate opportunity to (not 5 minutes here and there). It's glaringly obvious where your deficiencies lay and that is the lack of a controlling midfield player, why not approach Woking I believe the have a few players available on loan.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
I don't disagree with signing a winger, theres no point if it's a young lad to come on for the last 5 minutes though.
How long before we shift a few lads out on loan, likes of Mellor and Grimes especially must be on a huge wage to sit in the stand

Bayliss would have had some of these players out on loan ages ago.
Not sure what our weekly wage is but weve got a lot of players on it and its not shrinking anytime soon.

Never been a big fan of Edmo and I'm glad it looks like he's going. Then there is the absolutely dreadful football that has been served up. Shite signings, the constant excuses, being more bothered about the opposision than ourselves, odd substitutions, him not giving locals a chance, and the sexsism ban.
He did get hs promoted but so would any manager with that budget in a league as poor as that. So to an extent he's done a job for us, however he's took us as far as he can. If we have aspirations of league football then a change is needed.
I do wonder how Bayliss/Shez would have done with the budget we have now instead of penny pinching for 80% of their reign.

I don't agree that all our players are good enough for this league but even if they were, isn't that part of the problem? How many of the current squad are good enough to get us OUT of this league (in the right direction) which is, after all, the aim of the exercise.Steeley wrote: All of our players are good enough for this league.
If we don't want to be changing an entire roster every season or two we need to be looking at having the players that can be with us for the long term and, outside of Cooky and Dixon, I don't see anybody in the squad that couldn't/shouldn't be a distant memory this time next year.
What DE seems to have done is buy for the now rather than build for the future. It's disappointing and we need more vision.

Were not trying to get out of this league are we yet? Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
True i suppose, IMO we should be consolidating, building a fan base and a squad with some decent youth coming through (we have the youth just maybe not using them correctly)The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Thats not what PC thinks!Steeley wrote: Were not trying to get out of this league are we yet? Do people want us to go and get promoted? Edmo is doing a fine job for the club for where we currently are and have been recently, i really dont want us to turn into Fleetwood/Crawley.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
It's not that we should be looking to be getting promoted immediately (as it would be too much as we are set up right now) but it doesn't look like we are setting ourselves up for growth. Consolidation is not the same as survival. We will be fortunate to survive under the current set-up.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
I think we have more than enough to survive as there looks to be 4 much worse sides than us. As I said earlier a mid table finish will be a good achievement this season. That would be consolidation. I think there are some real mix messages from PC, fans and Edmo. We all want to be entertained and win games. However, there are at least 15 other better prepared teams with more experience in this league. We think we've got an immense budget yet we cant afford/ don't want Andy Bond etc and we've made no stellar signings. I suppose Grimes would ge the exception but he's failed to deliver. 3 of the signings have improved us, the rest have not.Bigfathoss wrote:It's not that we should be looking to be getting promoted immediately (as it would be too much as we are set up right now) but it doesn't look like we are setting ourselves up for growth. Just because we are now financially stable doesn't equal high quality sexy football ask Abrahamovich! Not yet anyway. I can't see Edmo being here next season. However, the way its been handled seems off to me. I'm all for fan communication etc but as for people pleading to Paul Casson on here 'knowing ' he reads the
forum is pathetic. Far too football manager 2015 for my liking. Don't set your expectations too high everyone. It's the hope that kills you.

Re: The Darren Edmondson Thread
Well for me im in the Edmo in camp, yes he has made mistakes but its his first season at this level and needs to be given a chance imo.
Signings are always a gamble and its true some have not come off at all but that applies to all teams even the top four in the premiership.
Agree things have to improve but sacking him is way to premature.
Never ever expected this season to be any other than a consolidation season anything else is a bonus. Still hopeful but not expecting to challenge for the play-offs.
