As has been said by many others on this forum all the fans want is a bit of entertainment and players showing heart and fighting for the cause.

All been sadly lacking for ages and fans will vote with their feet.

True i suppose, IMO we should be consolidating, building a fan base and a squad with some decent youth coming through (we have the youth just maybe not using them correctly)

Do people want us to go and get promoted? Edmo is doing a fine job for the club for where we currently are and have been recently, i really dont want us to turn into Fleetwood/Crawley.
I don't have a problem at all with a season or two of consolidation, in fact it's the right way to do it. The current position in the league would suggest that, as consolidation seasons go, we're bang on track, but Edmo isn't under pressure from his boss and the fans because of the position in the league is he? Most of us would have settled for 15th after 18 games at the start of the season. The pressure he's under is a direct consequence of failing to excite and engage the fans and the town. It's all very flat at the moment and Paul has intervened, in the hope of salvaging some momentum before it's too late. A good cup run would have gone a long way to re-engaging the fans and keeping that momentum going on the field and the terraces to complement his ambitions off the field. It's clear to me that another frankly pitiful cup exit was as unacceptable to him as it was to us. He's a fan too, and Barrow fans do not tolerate gutless performances. If Edmo doesn't make it into December, it will be dour, brainless football, poor recruitment, baffling decision making, and a general lack of dynamism that will have been his undoing. I for one genuinely hope he fully understands the reasons why his leadership is under such close scrutiny, and can address them. I really hope he can pull himself out of this.

I totally agree with every word there Moonwatcher, for the time being we stand behind our man – he now has to change to survive as his brand of football has been dire to watch for 80% of his tenure. I can only imagine anyone who thinks he’s doing an adequate job doesn’t attend the games regularly, or has let sentiment or our ‘safe’ league position affect their judgement.

From a personal perspective – if the team performance and spirit does improve in the “one month” I’m not greatly bothered about the results i.e. winning every game; and I would be quite happy to continue to support the manager, the team and the owner. Remembering Edmo’s standing ovation at Tranmere, wouldn’t it be great to see that again on Saturday – regardless of the result, but because of a gutsy footballing display by his team.

Absolutely spot on post Moonwatcher. Total sense.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

In that case, walker won us the league at Lowestoft with his pen. Had he missed Fylde would of won.fact

Or did Aaron Taylor win it with his penalty save at Worcester

Already happened lol. Fleetwood/Crawleyism is an attitude and the Barrow version is exactly the same with "we were once a big club" tacked onto it.

Bogle's penalty was just one of dozens of pivotal points in the season. I know it's hard for some people to accept, but Edmo and the players won the league fair and square by winning more points than that other team over forty-odd games, not because of something Omar Bogle did in another match. The end.

Kevin Kilbane won us the league by not signing for Colwyn Bay and scoring 4 in the game vs Barrow.

Omar Bogles penalty was THE pivotal point in the season. It won us the league. Thats a fact. No doubt about it . Nothing else mattered that season apart from that penalty. If he missed that then Fylde would have won the league.

If we don't want to be changing an entire roster every season or two we need to be looking at having the players that can be with us for the long term and, outside of Cooky and Dixon, I don't see anybody in the squad that couldn't/shouldn't be a distant memory this time next year.
What DE seems to have done is buy for the now rather than build for the future. It's disappointing and we need more vision.
Bang on target there HOSS.

The squad assembled now is for now and not for 5 years down the line
Unfortunately, most of the players who have been brought in aren't good enough for NOW!

there`s only lacey who hasn`t played at this level or above, if we can beat lincoln.eastleigh.tranmere,there must be something good in the squad,i`d get rid of the players undermining the rest of the teami`m sure this woud get the performances back,if we had someone like darren sheridan in midfield the team would look very different i think we are about 3 quality players from being a decent outfit!
