Re: Paul Casson has what it takes.
Players , pitch , ground . Edmo has been given a good budget in both North and Conf , good money has been put into the pitch, and the stadium / terrace development is in the planning phase . Keens done an amazing job in keeping this club's head above water and alive ! But Casson will take this club onto higher ground! Rome wasn't built in a day , Holker street will take a little longer !

I wouldn't say the keens did an amazing job the club was over half a million in debt when Casson came along.

Putting it as simply as possible.
IF THERE HAD BEEN NO KEENS THERE WOULD BE NO CLUB
IF PAUL CASSON HADN'T COME ALONG THERE WOULD BE NO CLUB.
just be satisfied with the fact we still have a club. Criticise aspects by all means but don't denigrate the people who have made sure the club continues to exist.

Working behind the scenes and at the club every day made me realise how much effort the Keens put into the club. Brian calling in almost every morning and the time Tony put in back and forth constantly from his place of work, running himself into the ground.
They didn't have a bottomless pit of money but did the best they could to keep the club going. They gave of their best over a 15 year period and that says a lot about them. Respect.

Every club I would say has debt including the Premiership who have access to millions of pounds but spend it like water.barrowfan_chris wrote:I wouldn't say the keens did an amazing job the club was over half a million in debt when Casson came along.

I am just glad to be watching Barrow AFC because from what I heard from more mature fans than me there wouldn't be a Barrow if PC hadn't stepped in.I didn't fancy Kendal Town.

Does this not conflict here^^
You have stated your views many times on Young Casson's failings, then here suggest, They should send him to the Cod's for "work experience" then in the next breath say....."They need someone with a proven sales history who is after a career in this type of thing not someone being shoved in there on their name"?
Which is it & Why would you send someone who just does not cut if for you away to get the experience after slating them publicly on here on their many failings? Would you suddenly expect minor miracles after just 1 weeks work experience

No, no it does not.
I want the right person doing the right job and making our club a success off the pitch and bringing in as much revenue and fans for the future as possible.
If they can transform Casson Jnr into that then fair enough. Give him all the help he needs send him to Dallas, Crewe, Montevideo , anywhere. If hes not up to it then get someone else in to do it . You don't have to replace Casson Jnr but if you want the club to run like a well oiled machine generating money so it can be self sustainable in the years to come then you need to get someone IN who is up to that job.
Youd be surprised how many people would be up for that task in this area. Theres a lot of people that go to work early and leave late to hit their targets for the week/month/year.
Sending Casson Jnr or anyone else away wouldnt be a kick start to demand"minor miracles" it would be an option put into action to make sure the club is being run as a business and is being run correctly.
With regards your last point. The owner has just give the manager a month to perform some " minor miracles" of his own. Why hasnt this happened off the pitch to staff ?

Re: Paul Casson has what it takes.
Guess perspective might be needed in terms of marketing/sales. The shop appears not to be a priority. (I understand arguments why some believe it ought to be.)
How does income from sales of advertising boards, facilities hire and hospitality packages compare this season? How does income/work in kind from the various sponsorships compare?
Are advertising, community presence, website, social media effectively deployed?
We might guess some answers but given that the owner appears to be target-focussed in other areas it would be a surprise if his priorities in these areas are not being met and are passing unremarked.

Splashing out on ANYONE would be a good start! The Real Slim a former member of this forum wrote:Splashing out on Bogle would have been a good start.HenneysKnee wrote:Theoretically we could be in the league in a few years but it would take a lot more money investing. Would take proper investment on and off the pitch to gain league football
We seem to have become a club who takes a rather unhealthy approach to the phrase 'On Loan'...
I know many on here will disagree but I'm of the opinion that some of the Loanees we've received have been basically 'Cast Offs'

Re: Paul Casson has what it takes.
Got to agree.
Whilst some would take the view that one marquee signing might upset the dressing room harmony
money spent on a quality midfielder at the start of the season would have at least smelled of having a plan. What we've got is a team which scraped the league last year with what quite frankly can only be described as poor additions hence where we are now. Loads of samey players not good enough and several not even getting in the match day squad. How are they keeping fit? why aren't they loaned out? does nobody want them? Or are some getting paid too much and don't really care?
Build a team around quality then add to it don't simply hope the players will get better.

The signings have been mostly either average, injured or pish.
It is them and the 'million percent' dressing room need to dig Edmo out.
