The above comment is one of the worst/silliest I've ever heard on here.Jock wrote:If Edmo is out of his depth which a lot on here think he is then Paul Casson is certainly out of his depth. He strikes me that the town of Barrow was not good enough for him so he crossed the pond and made a few quid for himself and turned his back on this part of the world. He also strikes me as a bloke who thinks he knows what he wants and that is to buy a football club and because his old man supported Barrow why not the Bluebirds. He bought the first promotion but nobody has told him he will have to buy every promotion which is not happening and never will. You can't survive as a National league side on gates of under 1500 and more displays like today and they will be under 1000 and if he ever reaches his goal of the football league he would need fine times that. He has just had a wild dream. He strikes me as a bloke who would walk away and leave us in the lurch with no club and heavily in debt. We would not be the first club that has happened too.
Paul Casson has what it takes.

Don't read anything into it. It was planned weeks ago.Matty wrote:Casson to return for the Grimsby game.

Without Paul Casson we would now be looking forward to a Christmas 'derby' against Wukkie,Kendal or even Holker. He cleared the debts which would have killed the club as we knew it.For that alone we should be indebted. That gives him some rights to conduct the business as he sees fit. I still can't imagine his 'month' conversation with Edmo wasn't in private and was leaked by someone with a hidden agenda. I doubt even in America that this sort of thing is conducted through the media. The bit that worries me is the 'we are not in danger of relegation' (even echoed by some on here). Football history is littered with teams who have gone into freefall having hit a bad patch which they couldn't recover from.Perhaps that is what is at the back of Casson's mind.

Equally, he might have in mind the improvement in form - and subsequent promotion through the playoffs - when Phil Wilson was replaced by messrs. Bayliss & Sheridan. It was around the same time of the season.SKIPPER wrote:Football history is littered with teams who have gone into freefall having hit a bad patch which they couldn't recover from.Perhaps that is what is at the back of Casson's mind.

Re: Paul Casson has what it takes.
Good points. I think we most certainly ARE in danger of relegation. Unless changes take place within the club we will be in the bottom four by February if not sooner, because we are on a slide at the moment. Morale is low, we aren't scoring goals but conceding them for fun, team spirit and now even discipline are evaporating fast. This is the prefect storm for a relegation scrap. We need a change now, to get some belief, discipline and spirit back before it's too late. We need a manager/coach who can get the players doing the simple things right, from day one, someone who can get them to wise up, and stop always being the fall-guy for ordinary, but well-organised opposition. What worries me is that Edmo has assembled a squad with one or two decent players, but too many misfits. We have potential match-winners who are either injury prone or wildly inconsistent. I see not enough characters, not enough leaders who you'd want in your team to dig you out of a hole. I see players struggling for fitness, brought in on a hunch, and players who don't seem sure of what their role is supposed to be. It's a big ask for a new manager because he'll have to work with what he's given to an extent.SKIPPER wrote:Without Paul Casson we would now be looking forward to a Christmas 'derby' against Wukkie,Kendal or even Holker. He cleared the debts which would have killed the club as we knew it. Agree with all the above except the highlighted bit!Moonwatcher wrote:Good points. I think we most certainly ARE in danger of relegation. It's clearly not working and it needs fixing so that we can improve going forward and for the long term as a club.

Re: Paul Casson has what it takes.
Surely we all agree on one thing, Casson giving Edmo a target of 6 games too turn things around has not an affect on the players play, fight or passion for this club , as the fight and moral has been average too good in spells before during and after Cassons win target. Asking a man too put in 3hrs shift a week + a few days banter training is sod all too ask for . Watching Edmo trying too kick every ball from the sidelines yesterday whilst his players strolled around the pitch was not nice too see. The players are letting Edmo and the club down.
