Ian has asked that the thread be locked as he won't get chance to see it now before the meeting, so wont get chance to ask any further questions.

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
The first part of the Q&A session is now online at : http://bluebirdstrust.co.uk/paul-casson ... -the-team/
Trust representatives posed around 40 questions in a session that lasted almost three hours.
These will be published over four parts in the coming days, which will cover both the commercial and community aspects of the club, as well as other off-field matters, such as the ground and matchdays.
In this first part, we get Paul and Austin’s thoughts on the current team issues.
Please note: The site takes a while to load even on a fast connection. We apologise for the wait.

Christ if we are really paying an average League 2 set of wages they really need to buck their ideas up

Agree Steve, if that's the case so far we are coming in well short!barrowaberdeen wrote:Christ if we are really paying an average League 2 set of wages they really need to buck their ideas up
Some good questions and some honest answers in my view, looking forward to perusing through the next batch.
Thank's Guy's and Girl's!

If that's the case we need to ship quite a few out...
Why don't we have the best in this league playing for us?

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
Sounds like Casson would be quite happy to get rid of a lot of the current squad

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
Geographical isolation shouldn't be as big an issue as it once was; full time players training at a centralised base nearer to the major centres of population will reduce the daily commute by an hour or so each way compared with coming through to Barrow. As for match days, it's swings & roundabouts; players based in - say - central Lancashire will have a shorter journey to most away matches compared with the local lads, but will have to travel to Holker Street for home games.
The bigger issue, I think, is that with the majority of the playing squad based out of town, they don't really bond with the local community - not just supporters, but visits to schools, hospitals, etc.. They come to Barrow on a Saturday, do their job, then go home.
As Ray Wilkie once said, when we had a team of locals and Geordies, after a bad game the out of town players could go home and forget about it. The local lads had to face up to supporters around town over the weekend.

Cheers for the link Rich.
Over the League Two average on wages, and 5 out of 11 players who would 'go to war' for the club, all pretty much sums up this season so far for me.
Finishing 10th would be an achievement.

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
Jim Bentley (and before him, Stabby Backilroy) has said he finds it tricky to get players to sign for Morecambe as they are 'out on a limb'. When it comes to NW football, 'central' is somewhere like Warrington, not Lancaster.mrsenario wrote:Location ....for one...it must put a few off...despite the move to centralise our training headquarters...travelling must play a big partwhitty1969 wrote:If that's the case we need to ship quite a few out...

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
From that I come away with the impression that PC is showing less ambition than he originally set out with.
And the last time I bought a pie at the ground there was a massive pocket of pepper in it. The standard of food is a shameful disgrace. Delish pies would lift us to being one of the best in the country.

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
Agree about Delish pies, having sampled their chicken, ham and leek with the onions and gravy. very nice indeed.
Lack of any real news on the ground is disappointing and was hoping for a bit more. Yes the pitch is a great start, but what fans really want to see is a design plan / phased build programme for the ground development. Unless he's keeping wraps on things for a more high profile / public forum announcement.

Re: Bluebirds Trust Q&A
Where's this away fans bar at?
Pies would sell
Who's fault is it the "volunteers has become an us and them situation"
If we all turned up at 6am on a Saturday there wouldn't be anyone allowed in the ground
