I think you have to consider that his time at Torquay was under very difficult circumstances and he wasn't being paid at the time he resigned. In fact i think he resigned before that Bromley game.

Agree, patience on this one please! It's definitely time to take stock, see who is out there made of the right stuff with the right contacts and hear what they can do to improve what we already have!
No need to be hasty as there is plenty of time to get things right and build a side capable of giving it a proper go from next season.

when managers at clubs are having a poor run or are struggling, you often hear whispers and rumours where they have been given x number of games to save their job, Brendan Rodgers springs to mind and even Jose in his current plight. I can't ever remember where a chairman has ever come out and so publicly put his manager on effectively on a performance review and said publicly he has x number of games to save his job

Yes football is s unique business but at the end of the day Edmo is still an employee and to go public in the way that Casson did, may have created additional pressure, negatively influenced some players who might not be taken with Edmo, undermined his authority etc. and had an influence on performances which ultimately led to his downfall.

If I was Edmo, I'd be seeing my Union for constructive dismissal. Any performance reviews, or such like should be conducted in private.

I was at that 1-8 game, and I can confirm that Mansfield played good football that day. How many times have you seen Paul Cox in the manager's dugout to form such an informed opinion of him?

Its clear to see Edmo was given the month so that Casson could headhunt the next manager without leaving the club managerless until the new man was put in charge.

Itll be a bit rubbish if we didn't advertise the job and see what sort of people were applying.

exactly a former member of this forum, as usual the club haven`t explained if this is a permanent position or not!

It just does not make sense if it is permanent,what about cox living in nottingham?o.k. yes he got promotion but backed by a man who has 10 times the money paul casson has, a bigger fan base, better catchment area etc,unless he`s coming to live here i think logistically it will be a nightmare,we should (i hope) be looking for someone based in the northwest , we need players based around this area or we will end up with more anthony wilson`s,we have to do this until we as a club have the infastructure to move players here.

All we can say at the moment from what we understand that Paul Cox isn't Barrow AFC's manager ...yet.

When Edmo was installed as manager aparantly he was interviewed and pulled out all this stuff about bringing in locals, living in the area, perfect man for the job etc. The board loved it and he was put in charge.

I wonder whats made us (all but) choose Paul Cox? If this is how weve appointed our next manager then I just feel a bit weird and uneasy that weve not invited applicants for the job.
