Official Twitter
Lots of fans saying theyve been blocked by the clubs official twitter account after making enquiries/ asking questions.
I asked why they wernt advertising that the cross bar was open even with the postponement of the Gateshead game. Also enquired about whats happening to the corporate food if the games called off with the hope of nothing being wasted. That is what earned my blockage.
One fan asked why there wasn't any updates for yesterdays game and was blocked by the club. Another has asked about shirts being availible and has been blocked.
Very strange move by the club. Especially when the clubs " Primary Objective" is to be an important pillar of the greater Furness community.

Re: Official Twitter
It's as if they don't want fans.
Needs to be raised with board as it seems whoever runs it is not capable.
Is it a trust job to ask why these blockings are happening?

Hopefully its by accident? Seems strange to just block fans who are asking questions

No problem Dave/a former member of this forum, I'll e-mail a couple of people right now.Lancaster Branch wrote:One for Spirit of 1990 perhaps?
More than happy for people to ask questions either through PM's (as people have already done) or post the question straight to the forum or even grab hold of me on match days.
We didn't underestimate them, we just didn't think they were that good.

I cant see the three examples alone being by accident.
Theres a few pages you go through when you block someone.
You click block , then it asks you if you want to mute them or block them then you are usually asked for a reason why.
For that to happen 3 times over one weekend can't be an accident.
Its weird how this has all occured when people have asked genuine questions about the club wanting answers.

Official Instagram has also been quiet recently (no post for three weeks). Could we find a role as a social media updater (for want of a better word)? Factual posts are all well and good and there is a place for them but maybe someone could inject a bit of humour in there too? Our social media posts all seem a bit sterile.
No excuse for blocking people, maybe it's not the job for the person who is currently updating it.

Ive put this forward a few times.
Everyone knows who would be perfect for the role but the club wont approach him cause they believe there is no problem

Re: Official Twitter
Worlds apart the way we use twitter compared to other clubs, even clubs like Hyde managed to do it well. Doesn't take a genius, its a quick contact for fans and an easy advertising space for the club. Regular updates, even pretty mundane ones like 'the shop is open today come down and get your player layer gear' is better than nothing.
I don't think it needs to even be a serious job for someone, make sure someone is on it, they might not have all the answers but can try and direct people in the right direction if they have questions.
We must have a couple of full time backroom staff now? One of them must be able to pick it up.
Seems to be another example where the fans are seen as an inconvenience.

Absolutely shocking. Does the club actually want supporters?

Re: Official Twitter
The reply I have had is -
The club has not blocked anyone and has always welcomed approaches from fans, whether complimentary or otherwise. Twitter is obviously a good way to air comments and views but the best way to receive answers is through the official e-mail address, pointing out if the question is to anyone in particular.
Away from the official response, if anyone has a question that isn't receiving a reply if sent to the club please feel free to send it to me either through a PM or to ianrainford@aol.com & I will forward it to the person the question is intended for.
